If us and Liverpool win next week.

Chelsea might want to miss out on Europe. With their financial problems, they may not be able to comply with UEFAs 70% squad rule. Missing out altogether gives them time ti get the act together.
This!

It would restrict their spending by over £50m, probably more. They got near £500m revenue last time so spending in Europe @70% would means £350m spend, whereas no Europe @85% is £425m. It's a difference of £75m and ECL does not cover that.

The 70% hits bigger revenue teams harder, whereas say we had £200m and got ECL, it would be £140m @70% instead of £170m @85% so a 30m difference but we wouldn't say no to that of course.

We're probably not at that limit yet so not much of an issue for us. Plus you can spend more but you get penalised for it but it's still an option.
So what happens to the 2 europa and 1 conference league places that we have right now

Excellent research.

Can't answer this. Maybe someone else can
You got me on ignore as I have done it and linked to my dummies guide in post #41 above 😔😉

Excellent research.
It's just rough numbers but you can see how big teams ideally need CL money when in Europe. It's not so much a hindrance on spending for us but longer term it could be if we get it again. Though the ECL could be a stepping stone to getting into Europa League by winning it also.

That's why even if the worst happens and the mags spawn 8th place it's not all doom and gloom. They have a revenue of around £350m so it will mean a £235m spend instead of just under £300m so a £50m difference. Though again they could end up winning it so I'd rather it was us who got into Europe and not them.

Ye just read it

I think If we beat chelsea, brighton and brentford lose villa lose their last game but win the europa league we could get into europa league.

Villa are irrelevant for us. As it stands 6th is Europa League, 7th is Europa League and 8th is Conference League. If the Villa thing happens, 6th becomes Champions League, but we can't get there anyway so doesn't matter.
