Major airline as sponsor?

Being serious for a second, theres no way if its an airline it would be RyanAir. The only thing I think they have any sponsorship in is a horse race, and that certainly wont be the kind of costs that PL shirt sponsorship would be.

The only one I can think might be interested is Emirates. They sponsor Durham Cricket Club, they have flights to the region already, and money in football advertising already. But even then it's a long shot
UNITED i heard.

Oh god...
Flew with them to Belfast once on possibly the least aerodynamic plane in the world. It was like theyd give a 7 year old a crayon and said "design me a plane".

It was like a portacabin with wings
Once flew with them to Düsseldorf straight through a thunder storm. Was like something out of an Indiana jones film.

That brings back memories!

I used to "fly" with them to / from Aberdeen in the late 80s/ early 90s.

That particular type of plane was built as a cargo plane (hence the shape) which could be converted to a passenger plane by adding seats.

Christ it was noisy!

Just had a look online. My bet was it was one of these
