Southampton spying compendium thread

Tbf, Boro would have left themselves open to punishment themselves for refusing to fulfill a fixture....and they have history of being burnt when refusing to play games.......
And iirc, Coventry stayed up due to the Boro points deduction. Cov get away with cheating themselves, but also benefited when someone else got penalised for a transgression.

If we thought we were at a disadvantage of coming up later than everyone else, whoever the 20th PL team is next season is going to be right up against it in terms of recruitment.

To be honest, I can’t see anyone in any of Hull, Southampton or Boro’s squad (except maybe Hackney, at a push) being able to step up or be sold for a lot of money.

Those play-off semis were some of the poorest games of football I’ve seen at that level.
We managed pretty well but it's not going to help most teams.

Were there any warning signs that trespassers would be reported to authorities and any benefits from watching people have a kick about ? Did it state it was private land owner by Middlesbrough FC ? No cameras or filming allowed ? 46 Championship matches played. How many variations can you have FFs !Boro had more than enough chances to wrap up the game in first 45 mins at the Riverside ! 🤷‍♂️

Last years play off final had fans from Italy, Denmark and Canada and that was just in the section where I was.
Yes, but we have a much bigger fan base than Southampton. I watched the match in a sports bar in Bergen and there were about 20 Norwegian Sunderland supporters in there. No Sheff United fans seen anywhere.

Keith Downie has those questions covered in his report 🤣 the answer to most is yes

Southampton win play-off final. Spurs get relegated. Southampton punished by EFL with fine and points deduction next time in Championship. Premier League refuse to accept Southampton and keep Spurs up. Southampton implode next season and get relegated to League One. Spurs make UCL next season and win it. Richard Curtis makes hit romcom based on cheeky, unlucky in love intern just trying to make a difference in this crazy world.

I've done more than bookmark it, I've bet all my life savings on it 👍

Sort of puts Hull at a disadvantage, all of this carry on.

Both Middlesbrough and Southampton will likely already be training/prepping on the basis that they're playing Hull next Saturday. They are in limbo not knowing what is happening.
Or, on the other hand, all of the uncertainty means that Boro and Southampton are not fully focussed on the game as they are not sure if they will even be playing 🤷‍♂️

The fact that they're not allowing any ticket sales yet speaks volumes. You could theoretically let Hull sell all their tickets if you knew the game was taking place on the day no matter who they played. They're not, which likely means the final is going to be delayed.

Solution can only be to give hull the promotion really. Boro lost over two legs. And its likely a lot of teams have been spied on by Southampton so too many variants to only benefit boro

I was just thinking exactly the same thing. I will say though that the likelihood is that they'll be taking a few days rest because its a long season and they have until next weekend to get back to 100%.

It'll be the data analysts and the behind the scenes people for Hull right now who will be working overtime.
