+++Villa v SAFC Sky Sports Premier League ko 14.00+++

The amount of people desperate to say Luke O'Nien isn't a Premier League footballer is incredible

For what it's worth, I'm a big fan *and* think he might have done better for both goals today, but he's up against a terrific striker so not sure why people are desperate to write him off when he's been excellent over the last few games.
Currently just ahead of Diarra as the resident scapegoat now Hume has been on the bench

Onien isn’t good enough at this level. Got sucked toward the ball for the first and lost his man. Always looks unbalanced to me
I love him but it’s every week.

Vs Leeds should have been penalised for spot kick.

Vs Port Vale nearly lobs his own keeper then they score from the resulting corner.

Vs Newcastle at fault for the goal.

Vs Spurs needlessly dives in on Kolo Mouani when he didn’t need to during the penalty incident.

Vs Villa been abysmal for the entire half.

Some people have put blame on someone for a goal, but that second goal is just great movement all round. The burst of pace from Maatsen, the ball in is perfect and Watkins just backing into the space and getting that crucial yard.

Stuff could've been done slightly better but its just a top quality goal.
I agree. You can look at any goal, ever, and say defenders could do better and you absolutely could for their second. But I think it was more to do with high quality than owt else, sometimes that happens.

People like being furious though, so 🤷‍♂️

We’re playing well. Nice to be competitive against a team as good as this. They were outsider title challengers a few months ago - and probs would still have been if they kept their players fit.

I want Ballard on for that aerial threat for the rest of the season. Still in the race for Europe regardless what happens today.

Both their goals were good, but we could still have done better in both instances.
No arguments there, but all 3 goals are similar in that regard. Maatsen could've done more to stop Diarra getting the cross in for ours as well.

If you pick apart every action for every goal then you don't take in the quality for most.

People absolutely desperate to pin any goal conceded on O9 😂 week in week out. He may have some blame to shoulder but there's 1 or 2 others who have let themselves down in the same goal but don't get a mention.
Works both ways that. He gets a load of whataboutery to absolve him of any blame. Not necessarily today but in general

Mad thing is, Diarra has actually looked good here. Le Fee more disappointing than Diarra imo but some people decided their opinions on our players in August 2025 and that's that.
