Bournemouth gaffer to mags

So they want rid of an ex Bournemouth manager to be replaced by a soon to ex Bournemouth manager

Sorry Geordie Josh but I don’t think a top manager would touch NUFC with a bargepole atm

“50,000 screaming Geordies” or not

Club is in a mess

Is he really all that ??
Currently sitting below us,
have been very inconsistent sure they went 12 games without a win.
Mickey Mouse club with no real pressure from fans, hopefully mags get him.

Doubt he will end up there, would be a decent appointment but the daft fuckers think they can get a mega name 😂😂😂
The stupid knackers always want a big name regardless of style of football (Benitez was finished, played awful stuff and relegated them and they still bulled him up 😂) or whether they are still at the height of their powers.

It's as though they just want to say, 'we're class because we've got so and so'. The fact that so and so isn't the best candidate doesn't ever come into it. Really weird.

He’s said fairly recently that after playing over 500 games for Athletic, and even though it’s ’his’ club he would want to keep his legacy at that. But maybe the pull will be strong.

RM job? You’d get a lot of s**t as a Basque for taking that, although money talks.

As far as the PL goes there is/could be any number of the following with vacancies this summer: Man United, Liverpool, Chelsea and even City. Mags? I’d be surprised with all those opportunities potentially on the table.

I watch a lot of La Liga. When Bournemouth brought him in I thought it was a brilliant choice. He’s got that gritty character that gnarly old Basque defenders seem to have in their DNA.

He started slowly, but given Bournemouth is a minnow in PL terms he’s done a great job since. Remember he lost a huge amount of talent in the summer – likes of Kurkez, Huijsen, Ouatarra and Zabarnyi – and then Semenyo in January.

And yet here they are, still competing for a European place next season. That shows he can adapt quickly with new players and build teams. That will be very attractive to a future employer.

I’d hate them to get him but they need someone like conte to sort the players out

By all accounts Bournemouth have a very savvy procurement analytics set up comparable or maybe better than Brighton, which helps immensely when partnered with a smart coach/manager

They certainly need someone way better than Beheaddie who thinks I'll pick Dan Burn because he might score from a corner. I'll buy / play fast wingers because they can close people down and get in behind but then are fucked when a team sits deep and gets rid of the ball earlier. He's a one demisional manager with a lack of plan B. I'm happy for him to stay. They've reached a ceiling and are only going one way.

Unless it was to Barca or Real he won’t get a fraction of the wage in Spain he could get in premier league
I doubt he’d want the politics at NUFC but money talks
It’s not the wages that are the issue. The report he is wanting to go back to Spain is because he and his family are homesick.

Swapping Bournemouth for Newcastle isn’t going to help in that regard.

He’s a good manager but is he better than Howe? He’s spent a fair bit at Bournemouth albeit raised a lot in transfer sales.
Not sure about his previous jobs but I wonder how much of the recruitment at Bournemouth was down to him. Over the last few years they've seemed to do things along the lines of Brentford and Brighton, where they can sell players for decent money and have good replacements lined up. At those clubs the manager has been another replaceable part.
