BlueCo losses.

Doesn’t SCR mean they’ll only get a 6 point penalty?

Maybe I misinterpreted it, but it seemed to me like the new rules are “spend whatever the fuck you want, so long as you pay us a ‘fine’, and then we will dock you 6 points to look like we give a shit. Anyway, leave your ‘fine’ over there with all the other brown envelopes would you”

Staggering

"BlueCo 22 lost roughly £630m in 2024/25, and football finance expert Kieran Maguire pointed out that since their purchase of Chelsea, the group has total losses topping £1.6billion, or £10.4m per week since the acquisition."

Hope they hurry up, that would still be great for a possible Europe place.

Can see why they went for Rosenior now given those losses, move the deckchairs around a bit hoping you limp back to shore in a bit.

Cheaper appointment from a club in your ownership structure.

6 points is the minimum

If a club’s SCR exceeds the Red Threshold, it will face a sporting sanction in the form of a points deduction. The quantum of the points deduction will be calculated in accordance with the defined sanctioning formula set out in the SCR Rules, but in summary, this will be a fixed six-point deduction, which increases by one point for every £6.5m spent over the Red Threshold.

Unless I’m reading that link incorrectly, they’ll face no sanction this season.

When will SCR be implemented?

For the remainder of the 2025/26 season, PSRs will continue to apply to clubs and the SCR Rules will apply in ‘shadow’ form. This means that while clubs will be required to supply the information necessary to inform an assessment of compliance with the SCR Rules by the League, no enforcement action will be taken by the League in the event that a club is in breach of any of the obligations of the SCR Rules.

I really don't get it, but what's the end game for BlueCo? Is it just a bit of fun for them and the shareholders who have cash to burn or are they expecting to get a return at some point?

As the primary shareholders, you get to bang hookers in executive boxes with the people you are trying to charm for your actual profitable businesses, you get god tier hospitality packages for all the Taylor Swift and boxing matches held there, you get to use the stadiums and future earnings as leverage for other speculative investments, and when it all goes tits up you get to dump all your liabilities onto the team and walk away hands clean. Win win.

Going into the summer transfer window they have already completed deals for four more players , another 100 odd million spent.
