A few on here wanted Hume to stay at left back in their lineups prior to the game.

Not sure why when we've got a player as good as that in the side.

His dive that led up to the penalty being awarded was annoying however. Stays on his feet and he doesn't lose the ball and that incident doesn't happen.

I'd like him to cut that part of his game out the same part of his game that led to his red against Villa. Learnt the dark arts from Simeone football.

Agreed. Too many players do this, look for a decision for a borderline foul, it’s not given, then they lie there looking shocked making the team play a man short. Too many times it leads to the opposition either scoring or going close. Unnecessary and needs to be eliminated from our players. Other teams can continue as it’s quite handy playing against ten men. I’m always disappointed when I see ours do it. I’m sure refs get to know which players do that and are less likely to give those players the free kick when it could go either way, due to too many times crying wolf.

Agreed mate does my head in. They’re taking a big risk doing it and that could have really cost us.

Argued this yesterday. Definitely best left back imo, maybe only Mukiele is a better full back than him in my 30 years watching SAFC.

George Mcartney was good Bardsley Scot Micky Gray and the unique legend Joe Bolton but Rhino list of clubs and carreer make him superior imo must have been even better when he was younger??

Struggling after that, We've historically played someone out of position there, even Gray was technically a winger, Colback etc

Being pedantic Mukiele takes that hands down.

On left backs, he’s behind Gray for me. Just seems to have a few bad moments in him. Switched off for the penalty, the red card against Villa and could easily have been sent off against West Ham away too. Isn’t too bad for it but can be a bit eccentric for me

Had a couple of seasons in the top division with us, relegated in 1977 after promotion in 1976, promoted again in 1980, Joe left at the end of the 1980/81 season - so a little bit of exposure to the top division.
