Their bench the other day had closer to £200m from just last summer, they spent close to a billion since blood money took over. Eddie Howe is third highest spend manager in that period. It f***ing kills them we’ve come up spent £120m or so and beat them twice and could finish above them. Then there’s teams like Bournemouth that play way better football and again have lost way more players and spent a fraction of the £750m they’ve spent. There’s no cartel, they ain’t being forced to spend money on absolute shite. £50m on Wissa is literally dead money on a 29 year old.

Thing is though they'll go round in circles, never learning.

They'll demand a big name manager. they'll demand big money signings. they'll demand immediate improvement.

they won't accept a manager like Regis Le Bris, they won't accept signings like Robin Roefs and Noah Sadiki, they won't accept the fact it takes a long time to build something solid

Mismanagement of the whole club including acquisitions is their downfall. We can laugh or socks off because what the Mags, Spurs, Leicester et al are doing is exactly what we did for years under Short … 100% mismanagement.

this is what makes me smile. We, little old Sunderland, are the ones that have ruined them.
 
My personal opinion at this moment in time, is that them winning that carabao cup last year is the best thing that could've happened for the rest of us. They still bleat on about it over a year later "aye you can have your 6 points, we've won a trophy" etc. It's absolutely stopped any progress or desire for progress from a lot of them. They all think they've achieved everything now. I always point to the likes of elite clubs and managers, like Fergie at united, not even letting players celebrate a trophy before moving onto the next one. The best thing Newcastle did was that mid season trophy parade. They've been shite ever since. I thought it at the time, how absolutely ridiculously stupid it was to do that, but that's the mags for you.
