Lincoln

Didn't they sound a siren when they got a corner?

They certainly did, but they stopped it, and the Dambusters' March, for a time.

Then they brought both back.

Saw us win there in the FA Cup late 90s under Reidy. Think Martin Scott scored. Decent ground from memory.

I'm struggling to think of any players that played for us and Lincoln. Anyone? Actually I think we sold Peter Daniel to Lincoln in the mid 80s, that's ringing a bell.
Jack Diamond is the most recent and Trevor Carson is a nice blast from the past.

I was there that day, we had a little section in the home end of about 20 us. Martin Scott had a double leg break that day

I think I may have been at that one. I know I've seen us there and I was based relatively near in the latter part of the 90s. I have memories of going to Lincoln on a few occasions with a Lincoln supporting mate.

Must have been Scott’s injury, rather than a goal by him , that I am (mis)remembering.

It's important imo looking back at the "banter years" not to act like superior mags and just reflect how shit we were and how much better things are now. What was the name of the clown running the club with the beard during this point?

Amazing. A thread is started about another club, and this forum of Sunderland supporters was soon able to turn it into another discussion about the dark days in League One. I really don’t know how they do it. Incredible feat if you ask me. How the SMB is able to use sleight of hand or some incredible mental power to magically, turn attention that was on a club who has just been promoted to now suddenly on us and our dark days in League One right before my eyes is one of life’s greatest secrets.

I don’t know about you lot but I’m here to congratulate Lincoln City on their big promotion to the Championship. It’s a hard league to get out of. And for them to do to sheer graft is a huge reflection on how well they are managed.
