Ross Stewart

Delighted for Ross.
His performances and goals for us were a beacon at a generally gloomy time.
And that goal at Wembley will stay with us forever.
Loved watching him play.

Eckert knows how good/important Stewart is at Southampton, especially in their promotion push, and is being careful with his minutes. It's good management. Will Still took a different approach earlier in the season and Stewart broke down again.

If he does stay fit then he should go to the World Cup. Steve Clarke would be a fool not to take him. Scotland need an outlet short or in behind and he can do both. Gamble worth taking for me.

He finally got us out of the league one doldrums, he was crocked yet we turned a big profit on him that was reinvested into a squad that was ultimately promoted to the Prem.

Oh and seems to be a really nice lad who has worked his way up from the lower Scottish divisions.

No complaints from me.
He's a great player. Was very disappointing to see him want to move to somewhere like bloody Southampton for more money.

Odd bunch Sunderland fans at times. Many have got very little self respect. Holds the club back at times

He was offered wages we couldn't match at the time, we were also offered a very good fee for a player with a lot of injury worries. Great deal for club and the player, we're also in a better position now because of sales like that. Lacking self respect is the Sunderland of old, signing past it players on daft wages who saw us as a step down that we struggled to shift, odd that you use this case as an example.

Great performances all round for the Saints.. The Lochness Drogba doesn't miss many of those against the likes of Ben White defending. Well done Ross. Good luck in the semis.

AND Tuchel is considering taking Ben White to the WC? Really.

Delighted for him, would be great if they got to the final

Exactly. Unless Southampton get promoted and Ross Stewart goes on to score 20+ goals in the EPL next season it was a cracking deal for all round. Barring Southampton but even then he might have helped them to two promotions.

Lovely finish. Hope he stays fit and get's to go to the World Cup. Easily better than the other Scottish forwards. Not bothered about Southampton but looks like their manager is Le Brisesque.

Without a doubt, when he's fit he's the best option Scotland have up top.

It's really hard to argue that we didn't get the better end of that deal. The lad has barely played since leaving.

£10m, the vast majority of which was profit in a couple of years. Some of the best business we've done in recent years.

RU blaming Stewart, the fans, both or the world in general?

Southampton were (are) a parachute payment team and offered him a realistic chance of playing in the PL (which he did) not to mention a huge pay rise. It's myopic to think it wasn't a step up for him at that time.

Over the moon for him
Hopefully he can fire them to promotion
One of most selfless forwards I’ve seen for us, a really good player, 100% effort week in week out, without him we don’t get out of league one, had he been for first year we were in championship under Mowbray I think we’d of won those play offs
