SAFC - Fan Ban & Ticket Cancellations

You are doubting the word of good, loyal Sunderland fans without any evidence whatsoever to back it up.

You have taken the side of the ticket office too.

You've made a total clown of yourself 🤡
I feel like you’re bored and looking for a fight.

I have condemned the behaviour of the club and ticket office several times in this thread.

Do I doubt the word of people posting anonymously on a message board- absolutely I do, and I would recommend that you apply the same sort of filter.

Let’s leave it there without getting personal.

I'll decide when I leave things cheers.

Youve come on here solely to call other posters liars but other people are bored and looking for a fight. Okay fella. Crack on.

Your embarrassing yourself a bit here.

I’m aware people have had purists in the stadium.

What you need to show me is a club statement confirming the banning of said people.

Thanks
When does a club issue a statement regarding banning orders, unless it’s national news?
You’ve come on here, calling people liars so only one person embarrassing himself posting gifs for me mate .

Will certain people on here get it into their heads

I think certain members on here need to read my post correctly and I do know what I am talking about. I am not commenting on Safc2012 who I have said previously was doing a hell of a job and has being treat like shite by the club. My grief is with an individual in the ticket office selling a ticket to a mate who did not have enough points to get a ticket through the proper channels. And as for being a new member I may not have commented on many issues but have followed this since day one, when the debacle first started.
Well make it clear u not talking about him then .the whole post is to support paul .

I fear for rule-abiding fans being caught up in this. I had my BCP point for the mags game removed for "non attendance". I was there with my 11yo lad, tickets bought in our phase etc. I've messaged the club, waiting for a response.

Just odd that there’s 3000 posts about one lad getting his season ticket cancelled and when your mates lad got his cancelled, you (or anyone else) didn’t bother to post about it in here.
He's not my mate he just sits next to us.
I've mentioned it in other posts a few times previously, not just this one.
Dont know what you're even slavering on about to be honest, two different cases altogether just both examples of how badly the club are handling certain things.
Hard to understand what point you're trying to make?
….and I’ll willingly apologise when there is an iota of evidence that the club have banned a fan based on one of their own publicity pictures.

I’ll wait.
What a muppet you are.
I'm sure the club will come out with a statement just for you to say "ignore this picture we posted because we had banned the lad before we posted the picture"

Also noticed you didn't reply to the other quote you made up about the ticket office staff selling a ticket for £500.

I hate the PL, all it stands for ( mercenary ) inc the total lack of interest in the fans ( non armchair).

Yep we are all expendable
They try to claim there is a connection between the club and the fans but that’s only ever for marketing purposes. One of the photos used for the season ticket renewal campaign of you “make the difference” featured a young lad standing on his seat holding a red smoke flare/smoke bomb, obviously showing the passion they wished to foster.

They then used the same photo to identify the lad and remove his season ticket

They didn’t ? 😳… please tell me they didn’t

Impossible to debate anything on this thread as too many people are just trying to demonstrate how loyal they are and how much better they are than other fans (and in some cases, how many “mates” they have!)

If the club used a picture of a fan with a pyro in hand as promotional and then used the same picture as evidence to ban that fan, then, in my opinion, that is worthy of a thread in itself and I’d encourage those involved to create one- I’m surprised it didn’t happen at the time.

IMHO, this thread should be about the treatment to SAFC2012 and the members of the branch impacted by the cancellation of tickets for the Mags game. I’ve said before that I think clouding this issue with random accusations and turning the thread into a general club pile on is probably not helpful.

People are being way to reactive on here and need to take breath or two before posting and resorting to childish name calling.

I’ll get pelters for this but I believe, in terms of what he’s building at SAFC, KLD does mean it when he talks of being ‘best in class’ in all operations & aspects of the club.

He’s done his ‘education’ in regards to football & business more generally - and surely one of his reasons for buying us was the identity of the fanbase?

The ‘problem’ here is
a) deciding who / how people get into games is far from exact science. Look at ANY club for that.
b) He’s employed people who may have experience in ‘the industry’, but that means it means they are prob not sunderland fans… or maybe even ‘proper’ football fans. It’s very unlikely they’ve spent 11 hours on a coach to / from a midweek game in Norwich to watch a dour 0-0 with nothing at stake.
c) the quick turnaround in fortunes we've had in 5 years means the balance of supply vs demand has changed massively, thus this particular hot potato has not been given due attention in the same way player recruitment & overall PR have.

Will it ever be given due attention? Possibly, but in the meantime those who endured shit aways in L1 are being submerged in the clubs inertia.

I would hope to see our fans, and the likes of RAWA & the Echo, to realise that we have have already proven our commitment to the club - and they all need us as much as we need them.

Success will mean (inevitably) we become drawn more to the City, United, Arsenal, etc. business models.

But when the likes of Ghisolfi say ‘we are not Man City, we will do it the Sunderland way’ then so the club need to apply that same mindset to the relationship with its fanbase.

If they don’t they’ll end up with tourists & daytrippers who’ll drop the club like a stone if we drop (again) from the PL.

I think KLD knows that and David Bruce prob did too. If not, he needs reminding quickly.

Because of the pace of things that you articulated, I am hopeful the new CEO will be dealing with these things.
Iam not even sure an executive director is currently responsible for this area of the club

Would it not make more sense than the marketing department have decided to use the image of the flare as they think it looks good and then completely separately, the security team have been notified about a flare going off, they've chased it down to the photo(and probably CCTV etc) and then asked the ticket office to cancel the season ticket?

That seems like a more likely scenario, even though it does make the club look ridiculous in using promotional material with banned activities in, than the ticket officer and the marketing people sitting round a table saying "let's use this image but then ban the person's

Someone setting off a flare is almost always going to get punished if they get found out. Not sure the ticket office are inherently bad for doing so. Again though, it's stupid by the marketing department to use images like that.

More than one supporter has confirmed it which is good enough for me.

Again all they had to do is have a quiet word. Is he breaking the rules? Yes but they using the image! Slap on the wrist, final warning, don't do it again.

Total lack of common sense by clueless idiots.

Little Hitlers … not sure they understand fandom
