SAFC - Fan Ban & Ticket Cancellations

I’ve supported my club for seventy years and this is the first time I’ve ever done anything like this. I’m just very concerned about how supporters are being treat, as if they’re the enemy of the club.

I’ve had direct contact from sponsors of the club who are threatening to withdraw their support, from disabled SC holders struggling to contact the ticket office and many ordinary SC holders, and branches, who are wondering if the club actually care about us.
I can unequivocally answer that for the letter sender, sad to say the club don’t give a sh!t about the fans.

The ticket office lacks compassion, truly horrendous people work behind the counter. They thought it was funny last season with the my season ticket fiasco. SAFC2012 helped solve this problem and georgi did come to the rescue in the end.

Another reason I dont deal with them and as part of the 65 had left everything with safc2012.

I did not fight my corner for newcastle tickets, nor did I contact the club for explanation as I had no desire to deal with these people directly again.

The fact that the ticket office shows no sign of consistently improving shows how we are valued and taken for granted. The fact that the deadly duo remain despite everything shows KLD happy or couldnt care.

The club see us as customers not fans that’s the sad reality. If (when as that’s football) we get relegated we will be seen as fans again as they need us then.
They try to claim there is a connection between the club and the fans but that’s only ever for marketing purposes. One of the photos used for the season ticket renewal campaign of you “make the difference” featured a young lad standing on his seat holding a red smoke flare/smoke bomb, obviously showing the passion they wished to foster.

They then used the same photo to identify the lad and remove his season ticket

"NewMember" he even said "if he does get on here id like to hear his point of view". FFS, safc2012 has literally posted his view and facts umpteen times in this very thread.
Will certain people on here get it into their heads
Do u Evan know what u talking about .have u read the 3000 post on here .nearly everyone has said positive things about him.he doesn't sell them on .the people with the points recieve the tickets .and as far as your family members are they part of safc 2012 branch
I think certain members on here need to read my post correctly and I do know what I am talking about. I am not commenting on Safc2012 who I have said previously was doing a hell of a job and has being treat like shite by the club. My grief is with an individual in the ticket office selling a ticket to a mate who did not have enough points to get a ticket through the proper channels. And as for being a new member I may not have commented on many issues but have followed this since day one, when the debacle first started.

Why am I not in the slightest surprised at reading this.

Seriously? If anything sums them up.

I’ll get pelters for this but I believe, in terms of what he’s building at SAFC, KLD does mean it when he talks of being ‘best in class’ in all operations & aspects of the club.

He’s done his ‘education’ in regards to football & business more generally - and surely one of his reasons for buying us was the identity of the fanbase?

The ‘problem’ here is
a) deciding who / how people get into games is far from exact science. Look at ANY club for that.
b) He’s employed people who may have experience in ‘the industry’, but that means it means they are prob not sunderland fans… or maybe even ‘proper’ football fans. It’s very unlikely they’ve spent 11 hours on a coach to / from a midweek game in Norwich to watch a dour 0-0 with nothing at stake.
c) the quick turnaround in fortunes we've had in 5 years means the balance of supply vs demand has changed massively, thus this particular hot potato has not been given due attention in the same way player recruitment & overall PR have.

Will it ever be given due attention? Possibly, but in the meantime those who endured shit aways in L1 are being submerged in the clubs inertia.

I would hope to see our fans, and the likes of RAWA & the Echo, to realise that we have have already proven our commitment to the club - and they all need us as much as we need them.

Success will mean (inevitably) we become drawn more to the City, United, Arsenal, etc. business models.

But when the likes of Ghisolfi say ‘we are not Man City, we will do it the Sunderland way’ then so the club need to apply that same mindset to the relationship with its fanbase.

If they don’t they’ll end up with tourists & daytrippers who’ll drop the club like a stone if we drop (again) from the PL.

I think KLD knows that and David Bruce prob did too. If not, he needs reminding quickly.

Fair enough. I take my comments back.
