As most home games are a sellout, would you be happy to give up your season ticket to allow even more people to attend home games now we are in the Prem?
But if we are relegated and the demand drops off cos we are crap again, you can have your season ticket back.
On reflection I think it’s a bad idea, who wants to go on their own if they get drawn out of a ballot.?
To address your point however …
I don’t have to explain that there is no such thing as an away season ticket, no up front purchase, no such thing as a fixed away crowd level.
We do leave circa 6k tickets for open purchase at home games. I guess that’s about 15% of tickets…. Tickets which no one else owns or are entitled to bit like away tickets. There is no comparison to a home season ticket
We can keep talking about the championship as if that’s relevant to any established premiership clubs fan base.
We have to get used to the idea that our value as fans is less in this division. It’s the same for every teams supporters. This club clearly are not contemplating going back to that
The disappointment of doing away games in the lower divisions and then not being able to get to away games in prem I get.
But it’s the cost of success… ive said elsewhere on this thread I think that being a fan is more fun in the championship at least it always has been in my lifetime.
When the day out and camaraderie are nearly as important as the result it’s tough to not be able to attend.
The club has to always ensure the most loyal fans who give us the best backing get first dibs but it’s not going to be a total 100% closed shop to all other fans forever.
…let’s face it corporate are going to take a chunk, tourists perhaps… this is the Premiership for you. I said many times before be careful what you wish for
