Adingra

I'd have liked to have seen him given a proper run of games during AFCON, and I'd like to see him back in the summer. He's done well in the Premier League in the recent past, he's more direct than Talbi or Rigg, better than Mundle, and more experienced than Ta Bi or Angulo. We need to get more support for Brobbey and I think Adingra can do that.

He started all but 1 of the games during AFCON?

Looked like he had absolutely no confidence with us, especially when he was running with the ball.
Sometimes it just doesn’t work out. I’m not convinced he ever really wanted to be here and his game doesn’t fit our defensive requirements. I think he’s good enough for premier league but it just isn’t the right fit with us. Certainly wouldn’t be against looking again in summer but doubt he’ll be here come August.

It didn’t work out but he can’t complain that he didn’t have the chances. Shame really cos when he was playing well he looked good but it was nowhere near enough.

The prem is the most unforgiving league in the world. Any player weakness and it gets highlighted very quickly. He's a good player just not good enough for the prem

Aye, can't win them all. Funny though, other than Xhaka, on paper he looked the most sure fire hit of all the signings but just didn't happen for him.

I don't think our gameplan worked for him, myself. And that's not a knock on the lad either, because he absolutely tried to make it happen - RLB likes a winger who tracks back and his defensive stats were honestly alright for us. That means you're playing on the break going forward a lot more though, and that's a different skillset to being an outright attacking forward. Got no ill will towards the lad at all - he clearly tried to make it work but just didn't happen.

He will have found that difficult seeing as he didn't go. He even scored for us while the group games were still ongoing
.

Edit: you meant for us didn't you

Yes haha. The poster said he wished Adingra had been given a proper run for us during AFCON, he started 6 consecutive games between Brighton (a) & Palace (h).

He was decent for half a game v Brighton & again v Leeds, other than that he was poor.
