SAFC - Fan Ban & Ticket Cancellations

Am I missing something here?
The Mags Tickets haven’t been issued yet so how do the Club know upto 65 Tickets are being passed on to others?
Also, how would they know it’s been done before, other than the limited ID checks that are being done at some Away Games?

Sounds to me like someone has grassed them. Otherwise, as you say, how would they know yet?

There really should be mate. From my personal and people I know’s experiences with those making the decisions, it won’t get very far, however. Very much a case of “computer days no”.
Hopefully I’m wrong though.
The ticketing side of things at the club seems so out of touch at times it’s mental, as evidenced by your situation as well and I had a mate who used to travel home and away years ago who had an incident and the club pissed him off that much he walked out the ground has never been back.

Absolutely bang-on mate. Without wanting to be too trite,we used to be like one big community where we looked after our own. Of course it used to kick-off amongst some when we were really shit occasionally but generally we looked out for each other.
No-one ever questioned another’s legitimacy of being at an away game, we were all just SAFC. Now you have snidey individuals snooping on each other. What a shame.
Exactly mate and there's some on this board. We all felt as one years ago but this season it hasn't felt like that at all at away games. You just have to read on here, people begruding young'uns tickets, they are our future....we have to be very careful as a club here. It's the people who have the points and go to the away games, who are the biggest whingers...just crack on and don't let it bother you.

If it’s who I’m thinking of his picture was on Facebook couple weeks back with the train conductor and a pile of 500 or so tickets

the very lad.

when people use the phrase 'lived and breath sunderland afc' ... it couldn't possibly be applied to anyone else

the bloke spent the equivalent of a full time job worth of hours each week sorting travel and the likes for away games. he even sorted me cheap trains for non-football related journeys

You know what thats a good point and the first time I've seen it🤣. unless those 65 tickets are from the same person who has been abusing the system(in the eyes of the ticket office) and the mags match has been used as an example? Who knows

I appreciate this wont be well liked on here but the person banned for a very very long time is a proper Sunderland supporter who would help his mates (also Sunderland supporters) get the odd ticket for an away match, it's a really aggressive punishment to a genuine fan.

The club are clearly clamping down this and if that's the case, there needs to be some consistency as there is always a "tv personality" or a Sunderland related person from the media with zero black cat points who miraculously gets themselves and their family to away matches for free.. If there was any consistency at all this would also be stopped. But it wont.
The club are abiding by Premier League rules. Sadly for him, he wasn’t. All this “it was fine in League One” shit is irrelevant.

Absolutely this and he'd spend god knows how many hours of his own time organising all of this and sorting out rebates from late trains which was all passed back into the group for hugely discounted rail travel. My understanding is the annual spend with LNER was well into 6 figures and was their biggest non-commercial client in the UK.

LNER are another big casualty here. i highly doubt we'll be using as many trains any more as they are so expensive. been cheap as owt for years booking with this big group, who will totally cease to exist without him. its a f***ing tragedy. i'm absolutely gutted for him. i don't think he'd missed a sunderland game home or away for about 20 years

He sorted one of me mates and his son out (7 year old first away day)

It'll be some snide fucker jealous of the lad because he helps people out and gets to away matches regularly.

These days, a good number have loyalty to the authorities rather than their own/fellow fans.

its not though is it.

the club could have spoken to him, explained the crack and allowed the real fans (like him and most of the 65 ) to be separated from any tickets that actaully needed cancelling.

they could have treated the fans with respect. given them a warning

Did they not do this? The first bit

This is very true and the length of the ban for what was 3 incorrect names at ID checks at Leeds, is ridiculous.
