‘Glasgow Rangers’.

Again, I need to make the point here I’m slightly Celtic bias, but I’m trying to look at this objectively.

Bit of a pitch invasion (at their rivals ground, which is a piss take). It was the end of the match, so they hung around in the box & by the goal longer than if it was a goal cos the match wasn’t restarting. There was no need to get off to allow players to return to the field to celebrate like say after the Coventry semi final or when you get presented a cup, so the motive was there to take the piss as much as possible.

So they hung around taking the piss, which would 100% wind up Rangers supporters & vice versa if the boot was on the other foot. I thinking if it was us vs Newcastle.

However, there’s a danger of taking the narrative to the next level. Apparently the Celtic supporters invaded the pitch to attack Rangers players. Given that they never ventured past the 18 yard box & the penalty shoot out was at the other end, it’s a difficult one to believe. Then the Union Bears have policed the situation to remove them, despite hundreds of police on the pitch (not that I’m saying they did a great job) which is almost being hailed as some kind of have a go hero moment, despite making the situation worse.

Nobody’s coming out of it well, but the hysteria has been taken up a canny notch.

Jamie Bryson isn't a serious person. I wouldn't give any credibility to anything he says.

I was at the game, albeit not in the away end. There was no conceivable way or evidence that Celtic fans were intending to attack Rangers players. They were celebrating and giving it the big one in their biggest rivals goalmouth.

What we do know is that a Celtic player (At least one, probably two) was hit by a Rangers fan and a Celtic coach was assaulted (The person responsible has been arrested).

The Celtic graffiti is inexcusable. Celtic have banned the Green Brigade from Celtic Park already this season and that probably highlights the difference between the two clubs' management itself, Rangers continue to tolerate the onion bears with their despicable track record. They also continue to fail to hold their own fans accountable and thats why ultimately, we have incidents like yeterday.

Big problem for Celtic, rushing the turnstiles and overcrowding could’ve been very serious. Shame with the Terrorism chants etc. very disappointed with the Celtic fans.

Looking like away fans may be banned for good. The nob heads spoil it for everyone else.
I mean rushing the turnstiles, smashing the place up and going onto the pitch is a very bad look for the away lot but they, the authorities, need to look at getting shot of the knackers rather than overkill. Was a piece on them today about how their "ultras" are now tolerated/accepted by those at the top of the club.

You sure about that?

It has happened like that... a small amount of fans kicking off, no arrests or injuries and a minor pitch invasion... but considered absolutely disgraceful and reported in the news because it was so shocking and so unacceptable.

Ireland?

One of their top division clubs is a f***ing university. It's hardly comparable to the Scottish League - especially Rangers and Celtic.

Rangers got to the Final of a European competition 4 years ago. Shamrock Rovers were the first ever Irish team to reach the knockout stages of a European competition in the same year. They're completely different levels. You might as well have posted articles regarding Spenny vs Darlo violence.

Both clubs' fans are a stain on Scottish football and football in the UK.

You forgot to mention the steward who was attacked by a Celtic fan, Celtic fans rushing the turnstiles and smashing up the stand.

I would declare every old firm game 0-0 and not play the games next season.

And the Rangers fan flattened on the pitch by Celtic fans just celebrating

Just close the league. It's shite.

It’s ashame that rational discussion regarding the old firm is guaranteed to descend in a tit for tat discussion of who is morally superior, it’s already started.

I can’t help but think of the Celtic fans don’t enter the pitch, none of the rest is likely to happen.

It's a problem all through football in this country.

I'm madly in love with the MLFs who are so much better than many other clubs' fans but this country has a massive problem and it is not being dealt with by the fans as it should be.

The Old Firm Derby is horrendous from both sides, our derby with that lot has seen some outrageous scenes... horses getting punched even. Euro 21 Final, Lansdowne Road, any world cup or Euros... horrendous.
There is practically zero trouble at football games now, in or around the grounds. None at all practically at Premier League level.

You're probably right on your second point but anyone in the Rangers end who rocked up to the game wearing a balaclava was clearly itching for an excuse to go on like a bellend.

Total sad sack behaviour that any 'fan' of any club would strive for a return of the sort of hooliganism that was rife throughout the 70s/80s and no surprise to see the usual suspects on this thread outing themselves as Neanderthals.

Isn't Jamie Bryson a bit of a knacker?

You are clueless.
Our Derby, not yours by the way, is an absolute walk in the park.
Loads of real fans on here who go to matches and nothing happens.
Its immeasurably better than the 1980s.
Youre best off arguing about nonsense other than football.
