Season card - No Auto Renew

Can they just cancel your order and refund then ask for more cost?
Googled and found this?
In UK law, once a contract is formed (payment accepted), a supplier generally cannot cancel, refund, and recharge a higher price simply because of a pricing error. You are likely entitled to keep the item at the lower price, unless it was a very obvious "glitch" where you knew the price was wrong.
Citizens Advice +1
Key Points:
  • Binding Contract: If you bought the item for a lower price, a contract exists, and you have no obligation to return it.
  • Exceptions: A supplier may ask for more money only if you knowingly took advantage of an error (e.g., knew a £1000 item was mistakenly priced at £10).
  • Overcharging: If you were charged more than the advertised price, you are entitled to a refund of the difference.
  • Evidence: Keep records of the price, such as photographs or screenshots of the listing and your receipt.
  • Digital Goods: The same rules apply, protected under consumer law.

If the seller insists on canceling, they should refund you in full, but they cannot legally force a higher price on a sale that has already been completed.

Is it not because folk have been overcharged

Dear Supporter,
Thank you for renewing your season ticket for the 2026-27 campaign.
Unfortunately, following the start of the sales window, we have identified a pricing error that affected several purchases, including your renewal.
This was due to human error, and we apologise for the inconvenience caused by this. Due to this, we aren’t able to honour the purchase at that incorrect price.
As set out in our Ticketing Terms and Conditions, the Club must cancel and refund transactions made with a clear pricing error.
A full refund will be returned to your original payment method within five working days, and your seat will remain reserved for you until 11 April, giving you priority to repurchase at the correct price from 5PM on Monday 2nd March.
We know this isn’t the level of service you expect, and we’re taking steps internally to prevent this from happening again.
If you’d like to talk to us, our Ticketing Team is here to help on 0371 911 1973 or via ASKSAFC.com.
Thank you for your understanding — and for your continued support.
Kind regards,
Sunderland AFC Ticket Office
How can it be a "clear pricing error" when they haven't even published the correct prices in the first place?

Sounds like they have got rid of the human that made the error. Doesn't guarantee that it won't be repeated again but it's a start I suppose. Also which is a real game changer it's inferring that they have a Ticketing team who answer the phone. Might try that out at some point although still worrying if I had to rely on it happening in 2026.

People who have completed a direct debit mandate, have you had a list of dates and payments sent to you or on your account? I did my mates for him and had neither. However, this season's direct debits aren't there either.
I found this under guide to season tickets at the top of my season ticket confirmation.
Direct debits
01 May 2026
01 June 2026
01 July 2026
03 August 2026
01 September 2026
01 October 2026

Thought Seek Geak was suppose make the Fan Experience that lil bit better, No?
Seems they are utterly shite tbf!

I went in last night and sorted my issue with price, didn’t have any explanation as to why but did give me the cheapest price for loyalty no questions on strength of my loyalty points.
