Durham CCC 2026

God I hope I'm a bit more excited in a few weeks for the season as I'm just all a bit meh at the moment. This lot running the club knocked the stuffing out of me massively.
The primary purpose and aim of Durham going 1st class has been completed eroded by this current lot running the club. They'd have been nowhere near the club in Robson or Moffat's time.

If players are good enough like mkinney they will get opportunities

McKinney has still to show he's a dependable bat in my view.

But the problem is mainly in the bowling division. We have a battery of ~(we're told) wzxiring and talented fast bowlers but the reality is we are not seeing them because of calls from England and injury. This has to change. I don't know whether the issue is their relatively young age, they're trying to bowl fast when thyey'd be better advised to bowl not so quick without over much strain on bodies. I'm sure myself, without having the evidence, that the kookaburra combing with flat pitches means bowlers are being flogged to death without reward.

Bringing in overseas players for a couple of games is no kind of solution.

This season will be interesting. The young bowlers are a little older. I can't see Potts being away with England as much and I don't think he shopuld or will. Maybe this is the year it all clicks?

Killen far too small sample size Bushy 1 score and what's he doing now
To be fair we seem to discard quite a lot of young players a lot quickly these days, Stoneman for example would have probably been released by these lot before he came good. For local players I would always err on the side of caution when it comes to releasing them. Not everyone hits the ground running

Having said that, if theyre playing at club level the county does monitor them, e.g. Rushy and Weighell, came back after good spells with clubs.

Why don't you give him a chance
Was your defence when Bailey was criticised after a small sample.Yet you defend our own academy products being discarded after doing well in the small opportunities offered.
Illogical and inconsistent argument.

. Yeh but that was under a different management Bushnell is doing exceptionally well with both bat and ball in NEPL. We'll wait and see.

Convinced you're a troll. Sad!

Says the bloke trying call someone sad a troll inconsistent and illogical, yes I said it was too early to judge Bailey, and it's to early to judge on killer id call that consistent now let's stick to cricket rather than childish name calling or having a pop which you don't with others.

But you're justifying Killer being released prematurely i.e on a small sample despite good stats, yet criticise those who question Bailey after an equally small number of games. Is that not inconsistent and illogical? Which is the behaviour of a troll is it not? Nothing childish there. No intention to offend- just responding to your questioning my concern about academy youngsters not being given fair opportunity.

Too early in the sense of limited sample size as to those who are critical of the decision for the decision to get rid, might live to regret it might not who knows.

It's the club's decision not to allow a bigger sample size by releasing him when the sample showed excellent figures. Is that not evidence of a youngster not being given a fair opportunity?
You're defending his release when not given a fair opportunity yet criticise those who questioned Bailey on limited evidence.
Is that not inconsistent and illogical? Is that not troll like behaviour?
Nothing childish and no intention to offend.
If you're not trolling I'll accept your word

It's the clubs decision yes but impossible tell if it's the correct, you absolutely do mean to offend you constantly have a pop

Possibly but Bushnell has that not been partly vindicated by what he's doing or not doing now
Only because another county is not willing to give him a chance. If someone took him on he might have done better. His confidence has probably been shot thanks to being messed about by a certain person at Durham.

No intention to offend. I was responding initially to your questioning my claim that youngsters weren't being given fair opportunity. If anything, you started the "having a pop".
