ID checks for away tickets

If it means some are going to the biggest games, when they haven't put the miles in to deserve the ticket, then a lot of people will care, especially those who just missed out. And what they're doing at the minute is presumably just seeing what sort of level the problem is. If it's only a handful each week then they won't bother doing checks for long and it won't be a huge issue in the grand scheme of things. If it ends up being a substantial number then that means a lot of people would be missing out on games they should have a chance to attend
Don’t know if your on Facebook mate but that Facebook page it’s the same ppl 9/10 selling them on, 1 of them asks for spare home tickets and sells them on again ‘something came up’ 🤦😂

I complained of a recent point kissing when they first changed over

They scrutinised my account and noticed I had 3 more than I should have, ended up with 2 less points 😂😂

heard a lad down oxford saying he doesn't have any points and someone called paul just sorts him out all the time. then mentioned the name of the fb group to the bloke he was talking to so he could get sorted in the future

Why didnt the club say so in the collective meeting then?
They did

3 - The Club wants to work with fans to ensure that those eligible to buy tickets are the ones that use them.
Ticketing integrity is vital to the Club and the league – with touting and transfer of tickets issues prominent across the Premier League. Sunderland AFC works with the league on this and is part of a
Premier League ticket working group
. The Premier League expects clubs to appoint a Ticketing Compliance Manager to help monitor the situation.

Beat me to it, it’s the bloke who runs that page Iv heard he’s got over 100 accounts with different stages of points he just uses. Also heard he gets extra tickets compared to other branches and the 2nd 1 came from a branch committee member who has actually complained to the club about it

None of this bollocks was an issue when the club needed to fill away ends at Rochdale and Cambridge. They couldn't give a fuck who was there during the league one days. They must think we're all stupid.
100% agree, and if shit hits the fan and we end up in a similar position in years to come, they won’t give a fuck again, they really have tightened the screw on every single aspect of ticketing and I can’t see any positives.
When I first started going I’d obtain tickets from all over, and when I built my own points up I no longer needed the help.
Be loads of genuine ‘spare tickets’ a season available for similar use and it’s never been an issue. No one ever profited, always fv. Wait till we’re getting pumped most weekend again in a few years time, none of this twisting on tickets will be a thing

His page should be closed down. To make that easier and nullify it’s needs all it needs is an away portal where people can buy the “spare” ticket and then be awarded the point and the original purchaser lose it

So what do you say to people who have 20 to 25 points who can't get their hands on an away ticket, but people are buying tickets for every game and shifting them on for the ones they can't be bothered to go to? It's obvious as to why this has suddenly become such a big issue when we are back in the PL and the club are rightly working to do something about it.

The only gripes / concerns should be around the setting of clear and fair rules - plus ensuring that tickets don't just go to waste if someone is unable to attend.

The club don’t seem to realise there is a massive difference between a genuine long term attendee passing a ticket to a friend because they are on holiday or in hospital versus the point hoarding shitheads that accumulate points because someone is using their number en masse and clicking for a couple of quid a ticket as a result. It’s not the same!
If they’re on holiday why did they buy a ticket?

It’s never been an issue getting away tickets in the last 15 years until now, it’s the hype with a first season back in the premier league. Lower point phases always got a chance, that’s how we all built to the top. This is my lads 4the season as a st holder, he has 70 points. It’ll settle down and go back to normal

Hence the reason why the club are introducing measures to ensure people accumulating points are genuine. It won't get any easier as long as we are showing some kind of consistency / progression on the field. If it was your lad's second season this year and he only had 20-25 points, then you might think differently.
