KS was more in line with what Ghisolfi does , as in player recruitment, so I just think KS was moved onto sporting director, and we'll get someone specific to that role , as lot for Mr G to do.

Ghisolfi has been sporting director at Lens, Nice and Roma mind. Would be very strange for him to come here and ultimately report to someone else in that role. I presume he's come in, been given director of football initially because we had speakman and then, when speakman leaves, he takes the sporting director role that he's used to and gets someone to do the director of football role. Time will tell mind, but can't see it being the other way round, Ghisolfi won't have come here to do what is pretty much a lesser role in the club

Certainly doesn't! Must admit, if I was hiring for a role that would make me anxious. These roles should be much more long term than the players or manager. Hopefully he's found the right "project" here
 
When Ghisolfi rocked up I had a sneaky feeling it was going to be the beginning of the end for Speakman. It seemed a little top heavy having a DoF and a sporting director. Although half expecting it at some point I thought he would have gone at the end of the season. Have real mixed feelings on this one. Sad to see him go if I m honest. I have defended and criticised the bloke through his 5 years here but he has done a good job overall and behind the scenes he has been a constant here and from outside looking in we seem a well ran club. Just hope him going does start a downward spiral that a big change like this can bring. Good luck to him (unless he goes to the mags) and thanks for good work.
 
Stuart Harvey leaving recently as well as Harvey and Speakmans record re: foreign signings and Ghisolfi appointment points to a more global based approach to recruitment.

That’s my concern. Same as that coach who left. Jump around clubs a bit and I just hope it doesn’t start a revolving door of folk in key positions.
 
over the 5 years they have had their moments of doubt from me, but he has left firmly with the upmost respect and his stock couldn’t be any higher

Wherever he goes, nothing but the best, except if they play us!!

Could say he's worked his way up to the Premier league...this is where the money is so would like to think there's a bit more longevity here for him

It’s seems obvious that he’s taken a back seat since Ghisolfi came in over the Summer
