Sunderland Empire

Anyone got any discount codes for it? Very tempted to go on Friday but it's not cheap for the decent tickets unless you want to be up in the gods

Yeah, its really expensive these days isn't it? Especially when its all 5 of us.

I went along tonight, I’d say about 3/4 full. Excellent show, the choreography between the scenes and acting was superb. Knowing most of the lines was a double edged sword as there’s that familiarity which we love, but little spontaneity. Either way, a great night, well done FT and SE, a brilliant night

Went last night, dun cow and moti beforehand, great night, play v good, was bout 75% full in the place I’d say, didn’t spoil anything about the experience, it’s fantastic that we have The regional theatre in our fair city, gets all the best west end shows, wd the Empire.

I think people forget just how big the Empire is with its 2000 seats - 3/4 full is a very good house.

Most West End theaters have on average 700 seats and I think only five have a few more than 2000. Having been to the Empire a number of times before ever visiting a London theater - the Adelphi in the Strand which is know for its big productions - I was surprised at how small it was in comparison to the Empire.

It's a quality show was it full?
We managed to get to the very last one and with Sunderland winning the playoffs it looked full and was obviously a class atmosphere. I bet it was the best one 😂. Those when we were getting beat every week must have taken any shine off it

Good point, even if the Empire is only half full that will still be a bigger crowd than the majority of London theatres.

I have noticed before when buying tickets online the seating plan can look like ticket sales have been slow but on the day it appears to be more full than expected.

After the SOL the Empire is arguably Sunderlands next biggest asset in terms of bringing people into the city. I have spoken to people who have travelled from around the UK to attend some shows.

Its a fantastic theatre.
