Sunderland AFC goalkeeper Anthony Patterson has joined Millwall on loan.

The 25-year-old will spend the remainder of the 2025-26 season in South East London, where he reunites with former Black Cats Head Coach Alex Neil.

Patterson has made 169 appearances for Sunderland to date, and he played an integral role in the Club’s rise from League One to the Premier League, winning two Play-Off Finals at Wembley Stadium.

Millwall are currently flying high in the Championship, sitting fifth in the second-tier standings.

Kristjaan Speakman said: “Anthony has been a standout performer for us in recent seasons, and it’s important for him to maintain regular playing time at this stage in his career. Although Robin’s quick transition and impressive performances have reduced his opportunities, he’s continued to train at a high level, and this loan provides the necessary platform for him to continue developing his game.”

Good move for him . A solid mid table champ keeper and one who had his excellent moments last season. Same as Neil wish him all the best
