Whats your choice of wine?

I am a Merlot man its a safe bet no matter where its grown in the world. Easy to drink, with lots of fruity mellow flavours which change as you consume more

Ever sice Christmas I have been a cairanne fan. It's basically a cote du rhone but with premier cru quality grapes.

Aldi's was great but they have stopped selling it after Christmas at least in hetton they have.

South American Malbec or Valplolicella ( ideally a Ripasso)

Not touched a white for a good 10 years or so, though partial to a Rose ( dry and pale) on holidays etc

For white, anything from the Loire Valley, for reds anything from the Cotes du Rhone region and Tuscany.

If you like the cote du rhone try aldi's cairanne next time it's in. It's on another level and is basically a cote du rhone.

Yeah that was a nice drop, I've had it a few times.

My absolute favourite would be Brunello di Montalcino but it's far too expensive to drink regularly. Cheaper alternative which I tend to go for where possible is the Rosso di Montalcino, otherwise Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, or a good Chianti (which is hard to find in the supermarket, most of the time - the good stuff is hard to get hold of in the UK outside of wine merchants, and then falls into the expensive bracket too).
