Wrexham....

Could be a good platform for them to develop, put him in the limelight and sell for double in a short period if they don't manage to go up.

The Championship could be a very interesting watch for the rest of the season. Sadly, I think that Coventry will go up (I can't see 2 clubs closing the gap), and I also think that Ipswich will pull clear in the top two. After that, it's anyone's in the play-offs: I'd say that anybody from 16th up has a realistic chance of putting together a good run and hitting the play-offs in form. It's a great league, as anybody from 17th down is currently bang in the relegation mix.

Isn’t their revenue mental due to Disney?
I’m was just going to say something along these lines.
I’ll be very interested to see what their revenue is when accounts come out due to the US coverage they are getting. They can probably generate massive amounts of revenue in comparison to other EFL clubs at the moments

Might be true but I'd be highly surprised if the player actually agrees when he was agreeing terms with Palace at the start of the week

They are massively in debt, but to be fair to them, a lot of that has gone into building their infrastructure (ground upgrades, training facility, academy etc.). Ryan Reynolds is an extremely smart investor (not just an actor) who has got very wealthy from buying small brands, building them, and then selling them for eye watering sums of money. Wrexham has been classic Reynolds. He bought them cheap, and has invested massively in their infrastructure whilst using his name to market them aggressively. If he can get them into the PL and keep them there for a season, then he will be able to flip the club to an American buyer for (I would imagine) not far short of £1bn.

Seems risky when realistically they have little chance of an automatic spot this season, even with some expensive new recruits. And if they're building for a promotion push next year they'd probably get better value in the summer. Spending that money on a 19 year old is the kind of thing established PL sides would do (and I'm sure I read Palace were interested in him), not a team outside the playoff places in the Championship.

Let them do what they want though, it makes no difference to us.
