Absolute sweetheart.
Amazing how quickly time passes.
Bobs is 5 next birthday.
Just seems like yesterday I was carrying him around as a 12 wk old puppy.

I can pick her up but not carry her any distance as she is just under 31kg, 5 stone!
She had her booster jab last week and the vet said she is 3kg overweight, which apparently isn’t too bad for labs. We have reduced her treats and she is not happy. I have stopped other 3 other dog owners giving her a treat this week, but our favourite pub reopens next week and I’m sure there will be hell on if she cannot get a treat there!

Breed standard weights are just a guideline mate. Nowt to worry about.I can pick her up but not carry her any distance as she is just under 31kg, 5 stone!

Bobs should be 15kg by the guide.
Never managed to get him over 13.5kg.
Fit as a lop, and solid muscle.
You exercise her really well. She doesn't look fat at all. She looks perfect.

Not fat but will benefit a little less weight to carry on his front joints. He is starting to look older now and is 10. Still the most beautiful softest dog you could meet.

I talk to him as if he knows everything I am telling him. Never known a dog like him.
Before he goes back in the car after I walk he won’t go in without a sit down and a head to head chat. It is so funny.
Just a big daft soft lump. Only knows what people think watching us together.

It’s just their little mannerisms. They just give us laughs and happiness.
We have wooden floors thus he finds it difficult to stretch. However there is a mat in the front room.
Before we go in the car for a walk i say the word, “stretch” he walks to the mat sticks and stretches his front legs out with his bum in the air.
I have to massage his front shoulder joints
I lift his front paws in the car and lift his rear end in on the drive and always carry the big lump out. Just want to preserve his joints.
On way home and after the fields he jumps straight in, almost effortless.
They get used to habit.

Never had him groomed.
Just swims in the river 2 or 3 times a week, towel and brush. He loves it.
Made a game of the towel and brush when he was a pup, so he looks forward to it.

Just swims in the river 2 or 3 times a week, towel and brush. He loves it.
Made a game of the towel and brush when he was a pup, so he looks forward to it.

Dead twigs, dead brambles,etc.
Summer is sticky burrs, but after his swim, I just brush them out, and he thinks its all a game.
And Ted loves Spaniels and Labs, the same way Bobs does.
No threat, no aggression.
Peas from the same pod. Gundogs.

It’s worth the pain mate for the love they give you over the years. Lost my sammy two years ago and really thought that was it for me with dogs as it proper killed me losing him. Circumstances with a new neighbour moving in having a pregnant cane corso and our lass befriending her we’ve ended up with a puppy. I almost felt guilty at first like I was cheating on SamStill "The Boss" marra.

but it’s only been a few days and I can see what I’ve been missing for the past two years and looking forward to 5 am walks picking shite up again
