Ah the classic dresses smart, wears glasses, smiles/smirks a lot, speaks well.... Therefore must be an arrogant tosser.

It's entirely possible to have all of these traits but not be said tosser. It's also possible that he's simply "dressing for the job he wants".

I have a feeling some people will naturally hate him as he threatens their own superiority complex, it's just human nature.

Some orange bloke across the water has this same reaction to most people every day after all.

I think it’s more to do with the sub-David Brent pseudo-bollocks he spouts but do carry on.

His record in management in this country is poor and pretty average from his time in France.

Some of the stuff he comes out with is on par with Michael Scott / David Brent - 'man-age, I'm aging men'. Please

The training video that Chelsea released was bizarre. Again, it looks like something off the Office. He spent most of it on the touchline, on his own, shouting the occasional single word at players - 'REACT, REACT, REACT' repeatedly.

I'm not saying he's a bad bloke but he looks woefully out of his depth and in 12 months is likely to turn out to be another very poor managerial appointment from Chelsea. He is also lacking in some self awareness for how he comes across to others.

I agree to a point however he is a bit like Ronaldo, always looking for a camera and acting like it’s on him, there’s just a look they both have permanently, i find that irritating, absolutely nothing to do with clothes and glasses.

I like him. Back to his Hull days

This forum has developed a weird obsession with him this week

Doesn't dress working class enough? Not sufficiently foreign sounding?

There may be a reason why English coaches have such a dismal record in the Premier League

I was hopeful we may have got before we got Regis. Always seemed an honest lad.

Nice that he has got a chance for a myriad of reasons. Its great to see an English/British manager at the top of the league, not dinosaurs like Dyche and Moyse who have zero foresight whatsoever.

Obviously time will tell if he is any cop, started ok though.

Eh?

The forum are talking about him because he’s the latest managerial appointment in the league. Dyce got discussed when he took over Forest.

How does a manager dress more working class? Turn up overalls & steel toe capped boots?

Who’s once said he doesn’t sound foreign enough?

What is the reason English managers have not win the league for a while? The fact a Scottish bloke dominated the league? Or Wenger how changed football? Or the fact Chelsea & Man City came in & bought the titles? I’d say more likely that dress sense, accents or message boards.

Nope it’s the David Brent style guff he comes out with. I think you’ll find that’s why people are laughing at him.
