Keel Crossing [opened 18.10.25] - compendium thread

Nah, the display was done from the south bank of the river just upstream from where the new bridge is. Where they’re building the new park and stuff. They also had some going off from the top of City hall and one of the other building.

The display started at 1830 but they stopped people crossing from about 10 past for the parade thing, then when that finished people started crossing and then got stopped a little further and told to turn around.

I’m not being a scrooge, but the organisation/communication wasn’t great. The display was good though.

what was the parade?

i wasn't there just going off social media posts. did it go from sheepfolds to keel square ?

It was actually written on the event information

Keel Crossing footbridge will have managed access and stewarding at selected times for public safety, with closures during each of the two firework displays (6.15-6.45pm and 11.30pm-12.15am).

Other way round, keel sq to sheepfolds. Lots of people in white outfits on stilts with lights on them.

I don’t think it was communicated well enough cos no-one had any idea what was going on😂

aye maybe they could have just put a few signs up on the north side saying ''southbound access closed between 1810 and 1840 due to parade''

or something like that. i mean it does make sense to not have people walking in the opposite direction to a parade across a footbridge, hopefully communication improves

Aye 100%, I get why they did it, but loads were stuck on the north side with no idea why😂

I’d rather the city have things like last night than not though!

They did start at the SOL we went to sheepfolds for a drink and saw them outside the ground and head over the bridge. After we’d had a drink we walked back over the bridge to watch the fireworks we were on the bridge heading back when the parade came back over from town back to the SOL.

Stopping a few punters getting over a bridge is least of the councils worries. 8 quid to park in town to go to match is utterly disgusting. Imagine encouraging people to come into town. Its improved but it’s nowhere near other city’s and I mean miles off
 Loads of free parking last night man ye dafty.

You've dropped a right bollock. It happens to the best of us mate. Where did you park so we know where to avoid in future?
I haven’t dropped a bollock I chose to park and pay just don’t agree with cost to do so. The city took away free parking after 3 long ago and simply doesn’t encourage visitors to come into it was my point. Another thread there’s many mentions of vehicles being ticketed in multiple areas so I paid to avoid that. No bollock dropped here just wish the council had a more forward thinking attitude to welcoming visitors.

I parked for free in one of the many dedicated car parks available. Well done on choosing to pay over using any one of them. It's a great scheme I use regularly. WDSC. Where did you park?

Why are you angry at something you chose to do?
