I’m glad it was Man City because if he can perform like that against one of the best teams in Europe then he has absolutely made the step up and is a bona fide Premier League standard player. I thought the criticism of him against Leeds was harsh as he has been out for months and not playing in PL standard matches. Established players would expect to take a couple of matches to get back up to speed after so long out. Chuffed for him.

He was playing arguably against the best winger in Cherki this season. Got tight and didn’t let him play. Top performance tbh.
He's always struggled against pace, which he hasnt faced yet. Taking nothing away from him tonight as he was brilliant attacking and defending

Excellent performance.

Will probably be less of a factor at PL level as we usually have plenty of men behind the ball.

He was absolutely fantastic and it’s really reassuring that we have great cover for Reinaldo. Give that lad a contract!

I wonder what that absolute dunderhead Columbo bloke has to say

Theoretically Hume, Ballard, Cirkin could all struggle against pace and I’m sure on occasions will but we are so well organised players rarely get exposed.

Hope he signs, thought he was better than Hume at the start of last season so had confidence he could step up providing he stays fit. Well played
