Man City - 115 Charges

Sounds daft but say the PL hit them with a 100 point deduction guarenteeing their relegation...could the Football League refuse to take them?
Yeah as it’s basically a club just like the PL, each team have to apply and it’s normally just an easy yes so they could say no but that would just cause more issues, especially if they still haven’t sorted out the new tv deal with the PL. EFL would love City in their leagues, even if only for a year as it’ll bring millions of extras eyes.

we will be having this conversation in a years time .
I think once the result is released City will appeal (unless found not guilty) so even a year is being positive. Again though that’s the fault of the PL who only after the City situation changed the rules so cases had to be heard within a certain time frame. There’s more holes in the PL’s rules than a block of Swiss cheese.

Might be a stupid question but is there any likelihood of UEFA charging them at some point and not allowing them in the European competitions?

With PSR (or whatever it’s called now) their rules are tighter than the domestic ones

For most of these charges, it will be childs play for Man City's lawyers.
If it was child’s play it would have been over by now. It’s reported that the only way the EPL found out was because a data hacker took documents from City’s servers and sent them to investigative journalists. Why would City hide information and deny charges?

If you haven’t seen this before it’s the first in a series of articles that are worth a read.

There's no chance of a points deduction and even if it did happen, Arsenal are not the only team in the title race.

Irrelevant anyway, as nothing will happen for years imo and even when it does, it'll be a fine. I think it's clear by now that they won't be punished.

I suspect City would see a 12-15 point deduction as a bit of a win tbh. In the worst case it would put them just 7pts away from the CL, with half the season to play.

The 5 UEFA related charges have already been dealt with by, funnily enough, UEFA.

I think these 5 charges are different.

The main charge against City is that sponsors were secretelynwired money from the Abu Dhabi group that owns City to top up sponsorship deals. In the bundle of documents sent to investigative journalists is an email setting out that sponsorship from Etihad was £67.5m, but this comprised only £8m from Etihad with the bulk paid secretly by the Abu Dhabi Group. This is just one example by all accounts.

Oh aye the football league would refuse to have Man City in their league 🙄

The football league would be over the moon to have them for a year.
They're dragging out this fine that they will end up giving them which Man City will not be affected by.
They are stuck now either way it goes. If it goes Man City’s way and the Premier League have no teeth. Or the Premier League’s way and have nothing to throw at them that would stick.

That was because Rangers went bust and had to effectively re-from as a new club and as such had to start at the Bottom (which they didn't). I said at the time that League Two is not the bottom of the Scottish Pyramid. Rangers should have been made to start in the South of Scotland league division 4 which I believe was the lowest lever of the increasingly complicated pyramid in Scotland at the time.

Yes, but imagine the hoards of Rangers supporters arriving at these little grounds

Chaos

They’re just threatening to counter-sue the Premier League aren’t they? That’s why the PL are terrified to release the results imo as Man City’s lawyers have bigger pockets than they do.

We all know that next to nowt will happen and certainly not any loss of titles, relegation or such.

At worst it'll be a meaningless fine and maybe a transfer embargo. And Citee will still appeal it.

The PL are as unscrupulous as the rest of football's hierarchy when it comes to keeping the gravy train running.

Although the PL will be fully aware of the financial importance of City, I don’t think they are scared of upsetting them mate. The issue is, it’s not a fair fight.

As I’ve just posted, City’s owners ultimately have the resources to turn the league into a complete shambles.
Which is ultimately why states should not be allowed to own a club. They have far greater resources at hand to make a mockery of the rules.
