He was excellent last night and he coped very well with pretty much everything that came into our box. The Netherlands have their number 1 in waiting.
The Situation

14 games in and he has the most crosses claimed by a GK in the PL this season (27), with the next best on 23.
He has the second best PSxG+/- rate (expected goals based on how likely the goalkeeper is to save the shot) at +3.0 which is second only to Dean Henderson (+3.6). This essentially means he has conceded 3 goals less than he'd be expected to, based on the quality of the shots he has faced.
Interestingly his Dutch #1 rival, Verbruggen at Brighton, is 3rd on that metric!
He's the 6th best GK in the league for the amount of long range (40+ yard, non goal kick) passes that he has successfully claimed completed.
This lad is the real deal. €13m (including add-ons) is going to end up being daylight robbery on our behalf and if he keeps this up has to be in contention for overall signing of the PL season, IMO.

Commanded his area, didn't have many saves to make but it's so nice to have a keeper that will come out and claim crosses.

As Neville said on commentary, it's such a luxury to have a GK who can take the pressure off your defence like that.

What I loved about that is that I was entirely relaxed about. Even with keepers I’ve loved I’d usually be screaming “ FFS man, what are you doing?”
