SoL To Undergo Multi-Million-Pound Investment Programme

I just think it would be embarrassing to have something looking unfinished like that for our biggest match of the season, when we will have the most eyes on us.

I’d be the same in my business if I started a project but couldn’t get it done for a big occasion.

Maybe I’m in the minority
There's nowt you can do when the weather is this bad though. Probably couldn't do it in the summer as the stadium was getting more important things done

Hope none of the bogs runs out of izal, we’ll be the laughing stock of Europe
SAFC fans will be pulling sickies and leaving footy Whatsapp groups due to the huge embarrassment and hurty words affecting them.

Live Down?
For the grammar police, it's the gif from a clip of The Boondocks that someone else had made 🤪

  • Original: "it will be an embarrassment they'll never ever live down"
In the original sentence, the object of the verb phrase "live down" is "embarrassment," which is already present earlier in the sentence and linked by an implied "that" or "which" (e.g., "...an embarrassment [which] they'll never live down").

If you add the extra "it":

  • Incorrect Version: "it will be an embarrassment they'll never ever live it down"
This creates a grammatical error called a dangling object or redundant object. You are repeating the object ("embarrassment" and "it") unnecessarily within the same clause structure. The verb "live down" already has its object established.

I swear it’s either people on a wind up or people are off their tits. They care way too much what armchair fans on x and Facebook say. Can’t extend the stadium incase we don’t sellout every week as Dave from fellon will post on x about them. Should’ve done the scoreboards regardless of weather etc as Lee from gosforth will take the piss if it’s missing. Who gives a fuck what others think proper weird behaviour.

I'm all for extending the stadium actually. And if there was a reason why the scoreboards had to be done in the order or they were both meant to be done by now and haven't been cause of delays then fair enough. All I'm saying is given what happened last derby why would you give the mags any ammunition if you don't have to?

I do think it's weird that this started after the Arsenal game on the 8th November and still not completed

Must be something major that has delayed it

Given how woefully the club handled the last derby and the reaction that followed online about I made my point. Christ all I said was it was a bit of an own goal, people going on like I was asking for someone to get sacked.
Its just not an own goal. It makes nee difference and is nothing like the last debacle.

The contractor must be a Mag and has delayed it on purpose so they can laugh at us mercilessly.
