I thought the Geertruida loan happened because Lucumi didnt happen. Lucumi is more versatile than Alderete. They clearly rate him after going after him for so long, wouldn't surprise me to see us back in for him

I know we have good defenders but he'd have played plenty already

agreed unless if we brought in Big talent CB like what Bournemouth did with Huysen ( Joined Real Madrid) Our youth prospect that we dont have at the moment, I cant see them progressing into our 1st team. Too big step up for them.

Never quite understood this one. All the data suggests he’s shite in the air but a great passer.
Given the aerial bombardment from throw ins and the importance of set plays in the PL, heading should be priority 1 for a centre back.

He's really good at winning "ground duels"

And also at post recovery ball retention. So immediately after winning the ball back, he's really good at holding onto it, if that makes sense.

Can see why he'd be paired with a more aerially dominant player

Either way, it's possible that ship has sailed
 
Bologna having a really good season like so his level obviously hasn't dropped from not getting his move in the summer. I'd still be all owa it if it's even cheaper now, just had to look at that Bournemouth squad last week to see what kind of depth you need.

If his price has halved from what our bid was it has to be an option but Bologna a can't play hard ball with us anymore.

If it was Geertruda or him then I'd glady pay the 20 after Geertrudas loan as done well when needed
