ID checks for away tickets

Exactly - like everything to do with the TO the communication is shocking

Very easy to put out an announcement that going forward all tickets could be subject to ID checks with no notice.

These are the acceptable types of ID and we will not be telling anyone in advance if they are subject to an ID check.

Could even also put it on the ticket pages when selling tickets and confirmation email.

Only those abusing the points system would have an issue with it.
 
Whilst I think it’s a shame for those just below the threshold, it wasn't really an issue in League One. Those who wanted tickets generally got them. If you didn’t go then, you unfortunately will be restricted now.
I was well over 50 points a few years but my daughter started playing Saturday morning football and that was me. I quite rightly lost my points and have never had any issue with those who have put in the hard yards passing their ticket on to a mate or family member, they’ve earned the right imo.
There is a lad on this thread who has said he has been passing on his tickets to his son and I see no issue with that whatsoever, he’s wanted the points and his son has a right to benefit.

People never going to away games and merely racking-up points is a different matter however though I doubt there are that many of those. What’s the point?

We can argue about the rights and wrongs of the new approach all day but the club choosing the same week that Kevin Phillips is photoed in the away end at Anfield as the week to start this shit show is laughable tbh.

Once again, the ticket office is the only department in the club that just dont get it.

Everything else runs smoothly now apart from the ticket office.

They can start this shit once they can assure us that EVERY single ticket goes to those with the highest points and not just when it suits them. Until then they can stick it up their arse.

Spot-on. I saw Man Utd fans kicking off about exactly the same thing - spot checks yet Luke Littler is there front and centre in the away end at Molineux.

Personally I don’t think so, should be something in place where 2/3 times a season you can pass it on if something pops up.

i'm in a bind regarding brentford. the lads i usually go with who are on high points can't go.

theres a lad willing to go, but he isn't on high points

do i go alone? or use my high points mates number for my low-points mate and have some company for the trip?

It’s only one game and not by many at all, I wouldn’t have thought, If someone is labelling you as such they should really have gone away in League One then mate. There was plenty of tickets, I took my little un to plenty who had no points at the time.
I wouldn’t be able to get them now as lost my points over the last few years. Lost my season ticket as well but let’s not get into that again.

This is quite a common misunderstanding as though you may have purchased the ticket, you are still subject to the T&Cs, one of which is that the ticket is not transferable.

The issue, of course, is in legitimate cases, where an away ticket is bought in good faith with the purchaser genuinely intending to go to the match, there will still be cases where plans change and they can no longer attend.

What is required is a system where the ticket can be returned and resold to fans further down the loyalty point ladder or the ability to officially transfer a small number of tickets per season. The current crackdown just doesn’t see well though through.

What we all want, I think, is the fans who have ATTENDED the most away games being given priority acces to the away end. What none of us want is anyone with no points and often no SC taking up a place in the away end that they don’t deserve.

So how would that system work for say me been called away to work Friday midday then have to give it back to the club the club take it back off my account re put it on the system and then try and sell it with enough time for people to still make the match? Won’t happen as ticket office takes 5 working days to turn anything around

Aye- we’re aware of the short comings of the ticketing system but we have to believe that it could improve.

Theoretically, a ticket could be issued and reallocated instantly with a robust system in place.

I assume you’d be in favour of any such improvements that would means the literalist fans get to be in the away end.

It's your ticket mate...therefore up to you what you do with it. Well...that's my opinion anyway mate.
