ID checks for away tickets

I haven't had enough points to get to away matches this season but even I knew that every match in the premier league is subject to ID checks, why are people shocked at this?

When was the last time you got asked to present your ID at a Premier League game sir?

It's honestly reasonable, if you aren't artificially keeping your points high then it's nowt to worry about. I say that as someone who has helped out mates in the past.

Here man, bore off with this. Those who are now on high points because of putting the miles in for the League One days/championship days are now thinking, - Oh I tell you what, I don't fancy City away, lets pass my details on.

To be fair it’s very very rarely enforced and a little bit of common sense needs to be applied if they are going to go down that road.

Also if they are going to do it then it should be done for everyone corporate, friends and family etc not just the average fan.

In fact it should be points based only regardless of corporate status, don’t have the points can’t apply for a ticket and friends and family of players can probably afford to pay for hospitality so why deprive an average fan of a ticket.

It was discussed at length on threads before the season started and my best mate (unfortunately) is a mag season ticket holder who told me there's always ID checks in place.

Yes, many of them will just buy every game regardless now, if they can't make the game - whatever the reason. It's easy to get rid of tickets for every game now.

I had my paper ticket on own account voided at Forest away and had to go to ticket office to get a reprint I never asked for. I assume it was likely the same thing as this as I could only get the reprint with ID

I’ve never passed a ticket on since I had the shits for Sheff United away about 3 years ago so doesn’t affect me but just curious how the club would police this. Feels a bit iffy if essentially trapping your own fans
Got the potential to cause more problems than good imo. As an example, I live down south, mate lives up north, 6 of us going, for city we bought 4 together in Same tier phase 1, the other 2 were in phase 2 and was hoping to get same tier, we didn’t as were none, so the 4 together (2 are mine) he’ll use as it means his kids will be with him) I’ll use his two from phase 2 for me and my lad in different tier, so if he got pulled for check in, my tickets that I’m using (are his) would be deactivated until he checks in, and obviously don’t travel together so could be a right pain. Luckily none of us have had an email

Might be mate tbf although I assume the “punishment” isn’t listed anywhere (eg get caught and it’s a 5 game ban or whatever it is)
Having the shits makes you a tout according to that article Hetty just posted from asksafc lol

It’s just being awkward for awkward sake
Who really cares if someone can’t go and a mate wants to and uses that loyalty point, again who gives a shit?
Exactly, we’re Sunderland for fuck sake, seen more shit away than most, think themselves lucky we turn up in the first place

But don’t the FA focus on suspect tickets only? The last forum I dialled into reckoned they only emailed people if they thought the system was being abused. For example the tits that advertise tickets on the official Facebook page

For abroad, you actually need to pick up the ticket at a venue in the city you are visiting
The FA have been checking the socials etc yes but also randomly calling other members up for home ticket checks
I know a fair few this has happened to

Oh right, so I put the miles in and have reaped the rewards but now will start giving my details away.... Ok.

Starnge

If you can't make it to an away game this season because there is something more important on, will you just not apply for a ticket and miss out on the loyalty point then? It's obvious why the club are doing it - just if this is the way they plan to start doing it , it's a bit rubbish with people potentially not getting in the ground.

Mate I'm in phase 1 every week, possibly with the exception of Brentford and Bournemouth. And I'm f***ing telling you I've occasionally helped mates out. I don't whore my ticket about like we all know some do mind.
