Watching this bowling I don't think it would have made much difference either way.

Well exactly. Doesn’t really matter whether it was 270 or 330, declare or no declare. Bowl up and down and all around there’s no gains to be made.

But it’s undoubtedly harder to bat with the new ball under lights. And they desperately didn’t want to have to do that.
 

Should have slowed the over rate down, bowled wicket to wicket and said we will wait till the sun starts setting and attack again
Agree 100%.

It just seems pig headed or naive. It's also a hugely psychological game and the Aussie approach is bound to have thrown them and credit to them.
