Sounds awful on telly. Proper League 1 noise.

(Sounded alright during the Granit Xhaka song as it adds to the noise in time with the clap, but is awful when just brayed during a celebration)

You don't notice it in the ground at all but that's a historical moment and all u can hear watching it back is one person rattling. Given u can't hear in the ground in real time, but they're very near a mic, it does present as very self indulgent and making it all about them. Opinions clearly vary, but i'm far from alone in being annoyed by it when wanting to watch it back. I agree with others that it sounds good when we're chanting and is in unison with the chants, as it adds to the atmosphere then, but it's crap for the goals.
 
In the old days we used to take rattles to the game.
I used to have one, and I’m not ancient (relatively maybe 😂).
I imagined the noise from those rattles would annoy some folk.

I agree that’s it’s a microphone issue tho, bit like the U21 games where you have the bellowing coach 😩
 
There must be a microphone right on top of the particular place where the sheeting gets banged against - You dont hear anything when your there..well I dont in the West stand close to the singing corner

It's louder when we are awarded a penna rather than when we scored it actually. The rattler is obviously still having a pint when the 2nd is scored but he's back for the winner.

Builds an atmosphere during a goal celebration? Really? Listen to that clip up the page when Ballard scores. Sounds dreadful.
