This type of thing wouldn't surprise me tbh. We will spend money on young players. If we are in a similar position in January, it would mean we are safe from relegation, I think it would be a good time to go for it.

Looks quality from the highlights vids (as everyone does). This might sound mental, but any winger we get in - no matter how much of a hotshot they are going forward, they have to be willing to put the graft in defensively. That's why I like Enzo so much on the left wing these days. His tackling is immense
 
I don't believe this story at all, but it I guess we would be looking like a very attractive proposition to a lot of players atm. Thanks to Xhaka, the lads performances, and all the positivity around the club We've definitely been one of the most talked about clubs in world football this season. It could really help in adding one or two real top quality additions to the squad in January.
 
We might not be in for him and maybe he isn't interested even if we were, but I think this is the way we're going to go next. We already have a solid squad, so we just need to test the waters for 2-3 £50-70m players in the next 2 windows to take it to the next level.
 
Was linked with Chelsea in the summer iirc. Then again, who wasn't? From what I've seen Barca fans seem to believe he'd be open to a move away as he's not first choice and is on a relatively low salary by their standards.

Wages will be the big thing that stops us signing this level of player I think. Having the money to buy them is one thing, but having the money to pay the wages a £50m player demands is another.
