Whisky gets better in the bottle after being opened???You must be logged on to see external links
What a great little dram this has turned into, it's one I've had open a year or two and it keeps getting better every time I go back to it

It can and does more often than not as it breathes and opens up as the oxygen gets to it.Whisky gets better in the bottle after being opened???
Can that happen quite quickly? It can and does more often than not as it breathes and opens up as the oxygen gets to it.
Definitely mate all bottles are differentCan that happen quite quickly?
I noticed I enjoyed that bottle of Compass Box Orchard House really opened up in flavours between my first and 2nd goes on it.
There were too many bottles that I wouldn't be keen on or be that bothered about for it to be worth the risk for me.I've just about worked my way through the Thompson Bros latest mystery malts.
I'm normally a fan, but I have to admit that they are massively overpriced and underwhelming. Not offensive, but unless you're bagging a unicorn it's not worth it.
How many did you get ?I've just about worked my way through the Thompson Bros latest mystery malts.

On the face of it all would seem well worth £65, certainly first twoSpeyside 27yo
Craigellachie 15yo
Glen Scotia 11yo Ruby Port hogshead
I thought I was winning. All three were okay ish , but not great to my palate.
Funnily enough, I preferred the Glen ScotiaOn the face of it all would seem well worth £65, certainly first two
Aye but guessing you can get that sort of GS in their annual releases around that price and they are often good…Funnily enough, I preferred the Glen Scotia![]()
The only Penderyn that appealed to my palate was a Madeira cask. The others I’ve tried weren’t for me.Anyone tried Welsh whiskey?
We were on Anglesey this summer hols and popped into a Morrisons and they had Penderyn Celt on sale for £25.
We got it home and absolutely loved it.
We've since bought more and branched into some of the other variants like Myth and some of the oak cask stuff. I'm not a connesiur by any stretch but it's very decent bit of malt.
Can recommend.
The Madeira finish is nice, currently £28 in Tesco with a clubcardThompson Bros have released a couple of well priced grains. Both 34yo, both £70, both bottled within an inch of their lives.

I've been fairly impressed with most Ardnamurchan I've had, albeit mostly single casks from SMWS. 3/4 way down in their AD Madeira cask release and enjoying it although not a fan of the 10 and I tried their local barley release at Glasgow Whisky Festival this weekend and found it a bit meh.I’ve had some ok bottles from them but the hype around them I find really really irritating.
Really enjoyed the first Madeira release, the other core stuff not so much.I've been fairly impressed with most Ardnamurchan I've had, albeit mostly single casks from SMWS. 3/4 way down in their AD Madeira cask release and enjoying it although not a fan of the 10 and I tried their local barley release at Glasgow Whisky Festival this weekend and found it a bit meh.
Not strictly Ardnamurchan but a collaboration with Chichibu, Connal presented this at a tasting in Glasgow on Friday and I thought it was superb, albeit it out of my price bracket.
