Jack Clarke

He’s a very good Championship footballer. We need Premier league quality players. Would you prefer Clarke to say Ndoye at Forest? There you go, food for thought.

Mental that he went to Ipswich of all places, but tells you all you need to know that no better clubs were interested.
Why was it mental?
They were about to be promoted. He was getting a massive increase in wages,he fancied himself equal to task
It didn’t work out but he would have been a fool to knock it back. Football is a cruel business and short career and you need to make hay while sun shines as it were.
This incessant sniping at ex players and sneering when the clubs they join come a cropper is really low class
and you've written him off after how many minutes? Some people never learn
@HitchBerg needs to keep in his lane and worry about his team 11 miles up the road

I’d take this tbh.

Amad is never going to leave Man United, unless we were offering silly money.

Ipswich will likely be playing championship football next season, whilst we will be playing Premier league. We will be able to match the wages Ipswich are paying, if not more.
He's not having much fun playing as a wing back under Amorim.

This.. Adingra is lazy, will never track back which is vital in our system, his signing was a big mistake.
So far, it's hard to argue with. Feels like he never gives more than 80%. Clearly has technical ability, just doesn't play with any intensity. Doesn't fit with our physical style, but would love to be proven wrong. Still early too

Clarke is a good player, but frankly we are stocked at LW.

RW however remains a concern, despite improvements in Traores form in the last two games. I’d like to see someone brought in there unless Talbi can be given more time to see if he can adapt how good he is on the left to the right as well (albeit I still think he’s our best option on the right above Traore, just less physical)

I realise the OP posed a theoretical question but, love Jack (and Tommy) though I did, the overarching principle remains the same:

Never go back.

Clarke was sensational in his time with Sunderland and deserved his shot at the premier league. Wether he was not used in the same way as he was here is irrelevant as top players adapt. As for coming back here I would say first of all Lw is a position we do not need anymore competition for and Clarke would have as much chance as Dan Neil in getting past the players currently occupying those positions. Clarke has in my opinion found his level which is top end championship and I don’t d¡see him improving on that. I wish the lad well as he served us well and to be honest he went not only at the right time but with the clubs blessing. We have moved on and so as he.

No. We are in a higher market.

Theres a reason only Ipswich wabted him before and I doubt any PL team would go for him if he was available again for that price

People back to slagging players off. Its almost always people who couldn't point to the SOL on a map.
