Time for Brobbey to start against Chelsea?

Diallo

Midfield
I’m currently 50/50 between him and Isidor. Feel we need someone physical up there to try and cause a bit of carnage, but at the same time Wilson is capable of grabbing a goal from nothing which could be key if we are looking at a potential smash and grab. Who we thinking?

If you want to play counter attacking football, you need players who can get up the pitch quickly.

Brobbey wouldn’t have scored Wilson’s disallowed goal as he doesn’t have the pace.
Definitely. Whilst I don’t think Brobbey is any way slow, I don’t think he’s a runner.

For me it’s either Isidor or Mayenda to start. Wouldn’t surprise me to see Mayenda get a start soon tbh

We need Isidor's running, we're not gonna have the ball.
It’s tricky for me, I would probably play isidor for this reason. But the 2nd half yesterday highlighted how poor Isidors hold up play is, just doesn’t stick at all and often chooses the wrong option. However he is always a goal threat and makes good runs in behind which you feel is most likely our best chance of a goal in a game we will have 30% of the ball.

As strange as it sounds, Isidor is one of those players who I always thought would probably look better at PL level as his main strengths are his movement and runs.

At Championship level, lots of teams parked the bus and forced us to try and break them down, which meant there wasn't always enough space for him to capitalise on.

It's different at this level as teams are coming at us more which is playing to his strengths.

I'd continue to start him.

Brobbey needs game time, but against Chelsea we need pace. Chelsea have looked most vulnerable this season against teams that counter them with pace. They're playing a very high defensive line with a defensive unit that isn't quite clicking yet, meaning that there are opportunities throughout matches for quicker strikers to get in behind them, so we need somebody on the pitch who makes those runs and has the pace to punish them if given the chance.

I still think that Brobbey will be a good player for us when he's up to speed. A striker who can hold the ball up and bring others into play is a good asset, but it's not what we're going to need against Chelsea.

Brobbey isn't slow, but he's never been a player who gets in behind defenders.

His main asset has always been his strength. Drops back off defenders, holds the ball up for players making overlapping runs, and then looks to get into the six yard area for a cross, where he can physically bully defenders who get in his way.

The way Chelsea started, giving the ball away across the back line , against Forest we could have had them 3 down with Isidors pressing
