Trump's comments about China kicked it off. But that's generally how it works. If there's a correction round the corner it is often triggered by fairly minor events.

I’ve actually just looked this up and apparently it can take up to 3 days … here’s hoping Vanguard have been slow on the uptake

Me too funnily enough. I'm not bothered in the slightest. The dip only matters if you take out during it.

I’ve actually just looked this up and apparently it can take up to 3 days … here’s hoping Vanguard have been slow on the uptake

they will take a week to spend that if not more, you’ve probs nailed it here

Great to see someone quoting amounts in this thread.

I have visions of all these financial geniuses on here investing a grand in “so and so” shares.

If you are going to make any worthwhile money you need to stick a fair chunk into the pot.

i got made redundant and put my full allowance from my redundancy into a s&s isa about a week before russia invaded Ukraine.

Took a massive hit the first year but Kept investing and my personal return as of this morning is plus 53 percent.

It'll take a hit the next few days, Trump will reverse his decision and It'll bounce back

Funny enough I did just put £1k in high risk stocks and shares after debating for some time, I have £20k about too become available after being in a 2 year bond but I’m not confident in putting all that in a vanguard or similar as it’s mostly the kids savings

Investing small amounts, regularly, over a long period can easily make "worthwhile money".

Exactly what I was away to post you’re much better off investing smaller amounts on a monthly basis rather than one big dump, it’s all about cost averaging over years.

Our mate Jeffers just likes to know numbers, I save £1666 in AJ Bell, $1500 in my offshore portfolio, £400 in to the little ones Vanguard 100 junior ISA, £500 in to BTC and £500 in to my T212 account on a monthly basis.
