‘Glasgow Rangers’.

It's very likely they won't need to pay him for the full contract length mind. Manager's contracts can have break clauses, agreed length of compensation clauses, all sorts of things. There are cases where the full contract is paid up, but it won't be half as common as people think. Martin was desperate for the job, he won't have been the type who could demand an iron clad contract
Yeah my mistake there, probably get a year to 18 months paid up though unless his agent is an idiot. When he was sacked at Southampton he had 2.5 years left on that as he only signed a new deal 6 months previously so he was clearly (somehow) in a strong position on that contract negotiation. He took the Rangers job only 6 months later which would have probably voided any payments Southampton were giving him so it would take a stupid agent to accept a deal that could result in a lot less money for himself and Martin. Either way he wont be scared to look at his bank balance at the end of a month I bet.

As well as appointing Martin, and like their more successful neighbours, their recruitment this summer was abysmal.
The standard of Scottish football has been pretty average for years and this is probably the worst it's been. Terrible

Depends on his ego but if hes willing to take a Championship club he will find a club. He will be cheap as rangers will have to pay him for the 2.5 years left on his contract and club owners somehow get blinded by managers who claim to want to play 'sexy football'. Norwich, Derby or Blackburn are all clubs near the bottom who I think would take him if they sacked their manager tomorrow.

Agree with Dyche, he's not what they need long term but the fans wont accept they need a project which will result in 2 or 3 years of being 2nd/3rd place (their current natural position) and rather somebody who says we will win the league blah blah blah. We should be the perfect model for them, attract younger players who feel they have a point to prove and if they succeed then sell them back to England/Germany/Spain for 5 or 6 times the value they paid. Considering we were doing it in league 1 and the Championship proves Rangers with European football could easily do it but the fans would have to accept for a period of time Celtic run away with the league.
Main issue is Celtic have already had 5 (?) years Running away with it.

All they need is good recruitment and a decent manager who can organise a team. The funds spent this season should have been enough to do that, but they’ve weakened their team whilst spunking away £20m

Rangers are failing badly on manager and player recruitment. Time and again. Note how even with Celtic struggling by their standards they're miles ahead of Rangers, despite Rangers having new owners.

No exaggeration to say Celtic could win next 10 titles unless Hearts can prove they're not a flash in pan.

Celtic don’t exactly plan long term either though, they’ve got lucky with Ange knowing the Asian market and Rangers being a mess. None of them will admit being a stepping stone club is all they can hope for.

They need a good plan, just spending £20m a season but changing managers is a plan for failure, they must have 3 managers players in the squad who all play different styles.

I suspect this is a non starter whilst Kevin Thelwell is there. There's no chance Gerrard is going to answer to that gonk who's spent the last 3 months doing favours for former clubs and appointing family and friends to key roles. There's a reason why we ended up with Martin in the summer.

He’s a patsy, will say what he needs too to get the gig

biggest club in Scotland and one of Europe's top twenty need a manager
hope they dint come sniffing after regis
You define being the biggest club in Scotland by being the club that has won the 2nd most honours in Scotland, the club that gets the 2nd highest crowds in Scotland and the club thats the rivals of the only Scottish club to ever be European Champions?

How does that make them the biggest club in Scotland:lol:
Lets get real here, They are not even the biggest club in Glasgow.
