The end of dodgy Firesticks ?

I've got one..just recently renewed my broadband with Sky..went on the My Sky app to check the broadband speed..then checked the WiFi..there's a list on My Sky of when I've been trying to access channels..
date..time..tried to access Bein Sports..tried to access Sky main event..they know what I've been up to.

Surely someone else would then realise that there’s a gap in the market and bring another version out, Amazons sales would drop off a cliff.
Understand why it’s happening but technology being worldwide will be difficult to constrain

It must be like 90% of firestick sales is for dodgy sticks?

Be no point in having one if not really. Be like shooting themselves in the foot.

They'll make fuck all on the actual devices mind, it's the Amazon and other subs that bring in the money

Firesticks aren't the only way to get IPTV, you just need the app with the right settings.
Any android supporting device will allow the app to be installed, so people will just switch devices.
I'm sure some Chinese factory jumped for joy when they saw the news and started ramping up supply of Android powered tv boxes.
Temu will be awash with them by the time Amazon starts phasing out the old devices.

I think Amazon have held on long enough and made a few empty promises before content providers have got close to presenting an actual legal case.
Every ISP knows people are using their service to stream illegally in their millions and do nothing about it.
You can't seriously think they don't know or can't do anything about it, I'm sure they could wipe out the connections if they wanted to.
The reason they don't is that people would switch ISPs to ones who didn't lock it down as well as others.
It's a bit like the whole MP3 download situation, ISPs got threatened by the music industry and made token efforts to shut it down without going the whole hog.
Many users back in the day got a letter from Sky telling them to stop doing it as they picked people at random to satisfy the music industry.
Why else would Breaking Bad become one of the most popular TV shows ever, without being available in the UK at the time!

Home taping is killing music was another, but they never stopped selling double tape deck units or blank tapes.

You can get windows pc in a firestick like format as well. Install a iptv app on there and away you go.

There also an iptv app for Apple TV as well.
