Hartlepool United

I just don't see how Gateshead will survive. 700 home fans at the game tonight, about 800 away fans.

If they're playing say Tamworth tonight, that crowd would be 400-500.

God awful play to watch football as well
Splitting hairs but it was 800 each tonight 😉Yes there no secret regarding their crowds. It think they have had a couple of 600 crowds already. They have punched above their weight for years due to some excellent managers, great recruitment and loans and getting good money for players and reinvesting. Essentially they will now fund a level more in line with their support and revenues. It was good while it lasted.

That's been the way for most of the Heed's current [and previous] existence; low home crowds in a rented stadium with never ending talk of getting their own ground & cutting costs wherever they could.

They've benefitted footballwise from being able to get released localish players/staff from SAFC & nufc mainly among others.

Was just looking at the attendance’s in last night’s programme and other than last night and opening day against Southend attendances have been between 500-700. Dropped right off last two seasons but. As far as last night is concerned it could easily have ended 2-4 but both sides were wasteful in front of goal. Gonna be a season of struggle for Gateshead and unless pools get some momentum they look very much a mid table side.

Good post. For years they’ve developed and sold some good players and used the loan market really well. Dunno if that was down to Williamson/Elliott/Magnay/Ian Watson but the club have been decimated since they left together with club legend Olley and Hannant. Seems they just getting by at the moment.

Away to Carlisle tonight 7.45pm ko.

Bit disappointing for a match like this to have a midweek evening ko. Should have been a Saturday 3pm ko in my opinion. Better for the travelling fans.
Seen fecking carnage there once, a copper opened a gate under the stands, someone punched him n loads of pools ran into the home end! Was in shock! 😂 seen nowt like that following sland allover.

Think a lot of the pools bad lads are on long bans now. In fact know the lad who does surveilance.

It does look like a recipe for trouble tonight, both clubs have some crackers supporting them. Where better than Carlisle on a chilly wet night

Always had bother at Carlisle when watching Pools. Mind you they're animals when they visit Pools mind smashing up seats. Our kid went one year on the train and they held Pools fans in the pub until kick off, even seen Pools fans escorted to the ground after kick off. We've been held back numerous times as well which has caused more problems. Very "strange" and "lively" place. Cleveland Police tried for bans not too long ago but weren't very successful.

I have a soft spot for this club. I worked with Ernie Phythian at Audi's biggest dealership when I was 19 years old. He was SUCH a gentleman and one of the most genuine people I had ever met. He helped me navigate the shark-infested corporate world at my young age. He passed in 2020.😭

There'll be a lot of Santa & Helloween masks on show to avoid being identified methinks

Hope all Pools fans have a Good Time on the A69 tonight...... No Elliot Embleton, Ethan Robson for the Cumbrians although you know Luke Armstrong will be trying his best against us.....Very Tough game, think yet another draw would be okay in this one......Ha'way the Lads and Up the Pools!!!!
