Yorkshire v Durham : CC September 24

You mean the 'Durham Cricket Science and Medicine Department'. Give them their full title please.

Perversely we need Carse to be no good in Australia, Wood to retire from international cricket and Stokes the same. We might then have a chance to bowl teams out.

If we go into next year without a massive bowling upgrade then we could be relegated with fewer than 100 points.
I'd have been happy if our bowlers simply performed to the level to which they are capable and we'd signed the right Parkinson. Warning signs last season when we got the fewest bowling points in the division and lost matches like Lancashire and Worcestershire from 100+ leads going into the final innings.

Also SB may not be Mike Brierley but he demonstrated more wit in how to change his bowlers to achieve a breakthrough.

Going on that interview Campbell is an idiot "you know how we play,we'll go out and try and win the game". No wonder the players' heads are down if that's an example of his motivational guidance.

To be honest, I didn’t take that too seriously. He had to play the game regarding Hampshire, but clearly they all know that if Surrey get the wicket they need early on Durham will play spoiler all day. I suspect Yorkshire won’t be too bothered to move things along either if they know they’re safe.

I heard him speak for the first time last week
Knew he was a bull shitter within 30 seconds

However Onions, North and Bostock should resign on Monday morning. They need to take a close look at the fitness people as well, the amount of injuries is not bad luck, they are clearly doing fitness stuff wrong and that needs addressing.
And whoever is left should strip Lees of the captaincy. I mentioned previously that at North's Q & A session on the final day of the Worcs game a question was asked from the floor about our lack of leadership on the field and tellingly this was the one question that drew applause from some of those present

I get to the home games just after 10am and the player are making plenty of noise during the football warm ups but as soon as they get on the field it turns into something akin to an extended Quaker meeting.

I've been saying since the Somerset home game in May that while Lees is one of the best batsmen I've seeing playing for Durham since 1992 he must rank as one of, if not the, worst captains we've had.

Totally agree mate quality batsman but clueless on captaincy. Just the first day he had short leg about 8/9 yards from the bat.

Only catch going there is off extreme pace and cost us the wicket of Lyth to a regulation short leg.

Baffling bowling changes but I look at last years averages both bat and ball only Lees with the bat and the superb Raine match last season.

Batting averages way down hundreds down wickets down a lot and averages doubled for some bowlers.

If we fluke survival our problems are not going away the bowling is utterly thread bare and our batting lacks resolve and concentration.

I've always supported Campbell but I had to listen to the interview twice as I couldn't believe the crap he was coming out with.
Set them 150 in 25 overs, loser goes down. Give the public something to watch.

Batting for a draw is boring, its killing the game. So I read, anyway.

Weather looks pretty poor all day for Headingley. Constant threat of showers, much of the day will be overcast and so if the rain doesn’t take them off, the light likely will.

We need Surrey to take a wicket today (for less than 32 runs), cause we aren’t winning.

Could be interesting to see Yorkshire and the umpires’ urgency (or lack of) if all we need is a draw.
