Yorkshire v Durham : CC September 24

We are totally reliant to n it being a flat pitch and a Surrey win sadly.
If Bailey and/or Ghafari play tomorrow we can kiss goodbye to division 1.
Both look like they won a fans competition to play but then the other options are Parkinson T20 is where he’s good.

Or Conner’s who’s garbage and Hogg who’s barely played due to injury just zero options with the ball.

North has gambled that we’d be in Division 1 whatever the outcome on Saturday in my opinion. That can be the only excuse for allowing us to go into the last few crucial games with such a piss poor bowling attack.

And like so many of his gambles it has failed.

I can only hope that should we be relegated it means he will be back on a plane to Australia.

Unfortunately neither North nor Bostock are going anywhere and Durham are going to be relegated under North's guidance-if not this season, then next.

I don’t consider myself a man who holds grudges but what did it for me and bostock was that stupid student night back in 2021 when they took over about 1/3 of the entire ground then started yelling at stokes. I actually think that was his last T20 he played for us?

I remember the student "COVID" night where the students had all the trapdoor and county durham upper and lower.... the upper was empty so we were all crammed in elsewhere including what is now the lower family bit and the tannoy kept saying "can people spread out for covid social distance" and when I repeatedly asked if we could go to the upper tier, we were told "no" as it was hired out to the students yet was empty all night, so we (and many others) left very early. Bostock e-mailed many people back and said the student nights wouldn't happen again. I've never been too fond of him but certainly have never liked North. However the "Luddite" comment wasn't great but his lies at a members forum a month or so ago when he lied about consulting members was the final straw for me. The very fact he got agitated/flustered when members called him out on his lies, was very telling and he left that event early. He has no time for members and it was very telling.

I can't recall Stokes playing T20 since then

This was also my experience. They kept yelling at stokes and whoever else was fielding at the boundary near them. You could tell he was getting pissed off and rightfully so. I contacted the club after and received nothing despite forwarding my complaint to bostock himself. That left a bad taste. We had stewards shouting at us to social distance but that rabble of future lawyers, barristers and MPs got to run riot

As we dont actually have a bowling attack, just hoping Surrey can put Hampshire in, skittle them for 249 or under and then we can fully focus on trying to get 450 and a draw, we are not even guaranteed to get 3 bowling points so our batting has to save us..

You speak of the piss poor bowling attack, but who else is there? I might have misunderstood your point here, but the players picked in the last two squads are pretty much all that’s available.

I’d love to know where the **** Carse, Stokes and Wood are for example. I’m by no means a happy clapper, but we’re sending four of our seamers to Australia for the Ashes, so clearly we have some talent - it’s like the yanks say “your best ability is availability” and unfortunately we’ve not had much of that for years.

I would’ve liked to have seen more of a push to get either Aldridge or an overseas seamer for the climax of the season.

I get what you’re saying regarding the spinner, but Bailey is very highly rated by pundits all over the country. I said earlier this week I’d pick him - can’t see him doing any/much worse.

What a dreadful bowling attack again how on earth do you pick a spinner who want for over 200 runs and almost 5 an over.

Never have we been so short of quality with the ball.

Surrey win toss and choose to bat at Hampshire as well.

Brave or foolish move to start Hogg?

Is he fit enough to be our 3rd seamer?
Conners is shite and Bailey still settling in here it seems.

Begs the question why he got a 3 year deal if can't displace Hogg,

Agreed with all of that
