Sheff United deserve to go up.

Love wilder to have another pop at Shu. Hate the fella but a great character to have around. Will definitely keep them down if they ever go up. Priceless comments!

Because their owners are prepared to put the money in to try and make it happen. Just like Ipswich the year before.
We are relying on Speakman and the rest of our recruitment team to make up for our owners unwillingness to spend when it counts .
They have done a great job to get us to where we are now but they need some backing.

The city by the sea, merge with some inland town miles away, don't be silly.

Enmity goes back centuries, Sunderland have always been in the side of honest hard working folk, ie supported Cromwell, whilst Newcastle has always had its tongue stuck up aristocracy arse ( used to be English royalty, now it's Arabs aristos)
It's OK Sunder, I wasn't being serious. ;)

I'm re-reading this thread from the beginning. Possibly one of the most baffling arguments made by anyone on this forum.

There was a Sheff Utd fan walking through our lot on Wembley Way giving it the big’un before the play-off final. He was singing ‘Its a long way back to Sunderland when you’re shit’. Most people were looking on in disbelief at the brass neck of him, he was lucky no one took real issue with him cos there were no other Sheff Utd fans in site. I always have a little giggle in honour of him every time they lose.

Similarly there were 3 lasses at the top of Wembley way who told me my eyes would be red raw from all my tears after my long journey home that night, rather like Coventry fans they all thought they just had to turn up to win.
