They lost on penalties last night, looked okay for most of the game, but didn't create many chances... remind you of anyone...

Seems a bit previous to want to dump their manager.... isn't the main problem they couldn't spend much in the summer?

The match day thread posters really are some of the least supportive supporters you can hope for. Not only to they write off the entire Team. coaching staff and ownership if we lose, they do it if we have a tough 20 minute spell. Any missed chances or need to defend and the whole club needs to be burned to the ground.
 
They don't sound too confident, hope they're right.
Palace, Villa and soon Mansionchester United, Cottages in November, then newCastle. We're building up nicely.

I was out and about the Brentford game so I was refreshing the match day thread to keep up to date. Nearly every comment was about how we had absolutely no goals in us. RLB had no clue, his team selection was rubbish, subs was rubbish. I got the feeling we were playing diabolically only for post match there was a ton of threads about how well we played

I think our style in the PL might go against RLB into the medium term. It’s going to be combative and defensive and we’re not going to score many goals. That works fine when drawing or leading but I wonder how we’ll get on in games we fall behind in. I’m not sure there is a plan B. Let’s hope plan A is sufficient to get us the points that we need.

I understand your point, but last season we actually gained 18 points from games where we conceded the first goal and already this season we have gone 1-0 down in the 78th minute and won the game.
 
It shows how a narrative can influence opinion. The narrative is PSR is to blame for everything, they're on the verge of kicking on but can't because the rules are protecting the status quo. And whilst that is true, the reality is they've spent a lot of money and given out ridiculous contracts to players who aren't really up to the standard they're aspiring to, leading to a 93% wage to turnover, blocking them from spending further. They haven't been able to invest further, the squad has stagnated as they'd gambled on qualifying for the Champions League, results reflect that and the manager takes the blame.

In reality, I think Emery overachieved in reaching the CL then getting as far as they did and the blame should lie with their recruitment team.

They took the European champions all the way last season. It’s a slow start but he will turn it around. To even contemplate changing manager is absolutely mental. It never ends well.

According to a few “experts” we can go again in Jan if needed. I don’t think people realise how little the club was spending in the championship it’s allowed us to push the boat out when we come up.

Nonsense. Birmingham are the Mags of Birmingham, just like West Ham are the Mags of London. Birmingham fans give it the big one, but the highest they have ever finished in the league is 6th once…. in the 1950’s! Villa have won 23 major trophies and been runners up a further 19 times. They are a bit miffed at the moment because last season they were playing in the CL and this season they can’t even score a goal. Imagine the meltdown on here if it was the same!!
