After it appearing in this thread I tracked down the extended "Once Upon a Time in America" fascinating to watch a film I love with new material.
Pity the picture quality of the new material was poor, if they can reconstruct WW1 footage surely they could sort this out.
4 hours and 11 minutes of joy for me though.

Think I may have to watch Novecento again after that, it did inspire it after all (over 5 hours).

The Conjuring: Last Rites - 5.5/10

A disappointing sendoff for the Warrens. Pacing was off and jump scares jammed into a disjointed story, which felt weary and reliant on a duo with great chemistry. Unfortunately, though, it couldn't be saved. Shame.

In A Lonely Place (1950). Perfect Sunday morning viewing - Humphrey Bogart in possibly my favourite film of his and playing an abrasive, sometime unlikeable anti hero. Did Bogey kill the hat check girl or not is the question for most of the film. Excellent support from Gloria Grahame (whose private life was fascinating) it's one of the best film noir's for me..

A 187 million dollar opening weekend at the worldwide box office for The Conjuring: Last Rites. That’s insane numbers. Whatever you think of the franchise it’s highly impressive.

Horror is the unshakeable genre at the box office.

Horror films have been the mainstay this year. Films like Sinners, Bring Her Back, Weapons, 28 Years Later, and Final Destination Bloodlines have all been profitable, while the big blockbusters have had to really battle to make money

Not a fan of the Conjuring films but cinema should be grateful for a genre that's basically keeping everyone else afloat

Too true mate, perfect for the studios as well as horror films generally require lower budgets than other studio films.

Best film ever made for me. Apparently there's even more scenes in the vaults that still haven't been made available due to some legal wranglings.

Eddington. - 7/10. Excellent performance from Phoenix. Good story and a few WTF moments. Felt like it could have been a Coen brothers fim.

I absolutely love Unforgiven and it would definitely make my list of favourite Westerns. The others that would make my list would be

The Wild Bunch
Once Upon a Time in the West
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
The Outlaw Josey Wales
Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid
Django Unchained
Rio Bravo
High Noon
The Long Riders
Ride the High Country
The Assassination of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford
High Plains Drifter
Blazing Saddles
Shenandoah
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
The Searchers

The Outlaw Josey Wales is my pick. Currently got my finger poised over the Buy Now button on the 4k Blu Ray of that

I’ll add
The Shootist
Big Jake
The Gunfighter
Chisum
The Hallelujah Trail
Cowboy
Showdown
The Last Sunset
The Far Country

Some crackers on there, a few other notables...

3:10 To Yuma (both versions)
True Grit (both versions)
Shane
Magnificent Seven
Way out West
Paint Your Wagon
The Proposition (Aussie western?)
Gunfight at the OK Corral
Cat Ballou
Hang em High

Godfather trilogy

1. 7/10 good, but not a classic imho

3. Boring, dull and nee need 4/10…Andy Garcia man ffs

2. Class Pacino and de Niro reminding me how magnificent they used to be, thought Pacino was immense, brooding dodgepot. De Niro back before he became a caricature also immense. 9/10
oddly enough i've just finished watching them all again. watched them in reverse order, started with 3 and ended up with the first one this afternoon. i think they're all brilliant in their own different ways.
