Broken striker market

Don’t get me wrong. He is a good signing and a good player but the fee is what is baffling me

Just shows how hard it is to sign these proven strikers or a striker with double figures in one f***ing season haha

He was good in the recent euro tournament, I think he might have won the golden boot, but didn't stand out against England in the final.

He's 6ft 6. The mags seem to rely on hoofing the ball forward, relentlessly playing aerial crosses into the area and set pieces. Seems perfect for their Wimbledon, high energy style of play.
I just meant if we'd signed him for that amount, I'm sure certain posters would just rate him on the price tag alone. Going back to the OPs point; yeah, the striker market is absolutely fucked. Christ knows how much Bent would be these days (just a name off the top of my head). It's f***ing crackers.

A Dean Holdsworth in this day in age would probably be a 25-30mil player 🤢

Just checked his scoring record

I'd be a bit gutted if we signed him for 40 million, let alone them lot replacing Isak for him.

German fans seem to think he's just a massive lump who's had 4 good months in his career

George Caulkin will be like ‘the spiritual successor to Shearer himself with shoulders so broad that only the number 9 can hang from them’

That’s exactly what he’ll write - genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if he copy and pasted it from here now, you’ve saved him the job.

it's why we aren't going to sign one. young and you get into double figures in one of Europe's perceived top leagues and your instantly 'worth' 50m plus

imagine how much Mayenda will be worth if he scores 10+ goals this season

Like I've said in my previous comment, some on here would be over the knot just because he's a striker and the price tag. Mental where we are in football now with these transfers for strikers.

In fairness mate, he was probably the hottest prospect that's come out of the recent euros, mind so was Elliott and he can't get close to getting into Liverpool's side. No doubt the lad will have a lot of potential, but could end up being a total donkey.
